WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!? Please post on my wall and introduce yourself. If I don’t really know you or talk to you, I will not friend you. If you are still just embarrassingly sitting in my follow list then it is because I have no idea who you are and I find it awkward. If you seek to change that then socialize!

“I am the one that creeps in the registry
Filling your processes with horror and despair
As I lay waste to all unsaved progress in my path
The cowards bow down and reboot before me
I am the error of terror
I am the fatal exception of deception
Fear me for I am the Blue Screen of DEATH

I’m some 20 something in New Zealand who makes websites

I still love my old school games from the 90’s but today I’m into TF2, Starcraft 2 and Urban Terror. Find me on Steam, same name there as here

Ponies and Homestuck. If you hate those, too bad. But I’m cool with other fandoms too. I don’t like getting into fandom wars
Also Carl Sagan is best pony

I’m into mostly DnB, followed by Trance but I’m interested in most forms of electronic.
Black Sun Empire, Concord Dawn and State of Mind are my favorites. But there’s a few bands I like that are not electro such as Rammstien, Disturbed and System of a Down. I just like electro more.

Sometimes I draw shit. I’m terrible at it.
But hey, at least my pony OC was not drawn with some pony creator program"

I’m all about the code. It’s probably what I’m best known for here
I’m one the people responsible for all the dudes with different looking profiles lately. Yea, I started the trend apparently. All the changes on this page are my work and everyone else copied me.
But visual tweaks is not all I do. I’m a trained intermediate web developer who knows PHP programming inside and out. I work freelance for anyone who needs a website

I browse KYM because its a fast way to follow what’s happening in internet culture. Net culture fascinates me and how differently it works compared to every other culture in the world despite being part of every other culture in the world. Plus I like the discussions we have here

I like sci-fi. But not the “UFO blows up New York” crap, I mean real sci-fi such as Star Trek, Stargate, Aliens, Predator…you know all that stuff from before Hollywood ran out of ideas. Then again the internet is pretty much my TV nowadays. The following summarizes my modern TV experience:

Obligatory profile music (Not autoplayed for your conveni- boom pow pow pow ba bam pa pow pow ba boom pa pow pow ba bam pa pow pow boom budda boom budda boom budda boom budda goddam do I love evil music):

I should clear this up. I would love to be able to pay $2000 for airfare, but (a) >I have money? (b) I have to save that money for a trip to Australia, because I know a bunch of people there who are expecting me to visit them at some point in the near-ish future.

Yes, I would love to pay $2000 airfare so I could go drinking with you.

After reviewing the “Drunk Thread” from a month ago, I appear to retain slightly better coordination in such a state than you do. Except when texting. That’s always fun. But yeah, I decided after that that I would refrain from posting on here if I get in that state. Of course, I’ll probably forget that, but whatever.

Now, did you have any more table incidents this time? hehe

Part I:

I tend to think of things anthropologically because (a) it keeps me sane and (b) it’s really useful when trying to understand what other people do. If you’re basing your arguments on the dictionary definitions of “science” and “religion,” then you are completely correct. But since I think of things slightly differently, I tend to observe things slightly differently too. You said you’ve never seen religion explain a “new proven fact,” but I would remind you that Judeo-Christian Monotheism has been around for over 3000 years, while Scientific Rationalism has been around for 200, tops. Therefore, it’s only to be expected that there are less things left to be explained through the Judeo-Christian Monotheist lens.

You might argue that things such as particle physics and neurobiology could never have been developed with religion alone; this is true, but you have to remember that these things don’t fit into the strictly Judeo-Christian Monotheist cosmology, so to a pure Judeo-Christian Monotheist, they would seem as supernatural as spirits do to us. It’s because we are all products of both that and Scientific Rationalism that these issues tend to get blurred.

Part II:

What I guess I’m trying to impart to you in this rambling fashion is this fairly obvious point: your views are coloured by your beliefs. This should be blatantly clear, and yet people often forget it. We accept “science” as the ultimate truth of the universe and discount all others. The scientific half of my brain is screaming YES! at this point, while the anthropological half is screaming NO!.

Your “observational” perspective is not what I would call an observational perspective, since you’re actively ascribed to one side of the debate. The key to understanding this issue is to detach yourself, at least somewhat, from your beliefs, and to realize that what we perceive as being the ultimate truth is not necessarily what others perceive. To a really traditional Christian, for example, the universe was created in seven days. To a staunch scientist, the universe was created in an immeasurably small fraction of a second. Both accept their beliefs as ultimate truth, and it’s not my place as an anthropologist to judge them based on my beliefs, which most people would do.

Now, back to the actual debate about whether science is a religion. I say it is because it can be interpreted as such through a detached lens.

And you described Atheism as an anti-religion. Like I said, I dislike the term Atheist; I prefer Scientific Rationalist, because Atheists, in general, fully ascribe to the Scientific Rationalist worldview.

Tonight, we step back in time to 1997. When I was in primary school. This is a classic example of mid-90s neuro, when it was in its heyday, and hopefully should demonstrate why I love it so much.

It’s funny how the Pony troll is quoting from me,
Should I be friend him? Because it is in brony code to love and tolerate, he will not like my friendship but I will love and tolerate him no matter what.

If you are talking about the trance music, it’s not possible to change the dimensions of a soundcloud embedded track.

I thought Psychedelic Trance was a cool idea to suit my profile, reminds me of years ago…

Luckily, I’m in a good mood! :D

I’m glad things worked out then.

As for the SynchTube, I went through a lot of trouble (given my computer’s inability to handle a lot of complex tabs at once, and KYM is filled with ad/link filled pages) to PM everyone who requested a link to the room.

But the most frustrating thing was that Berry Punch still got into the room. So either she knows something about the process I don’t know, or someone told her. I didn’t mind her in there. I wanted her to be in there. But I went through an hour’s worth of trouble to prevent that from happening for everyone in the thread. When no one wanted to say how she got in (including her,) more or less just saying “Deal with it,” I decided to leave. If I had known it wasn’t going to work, then I would have spent that hour doing something else.

But it’s done with. I won’t bother with it again. It’s silly to let yourself get mad with people online.

Take these, apply liberally to your computer screen, and call me in the morning.

And if you’re as decent as a guy IRL as you appear to be on in the boards, then I think you’ll be forgiven. It might not change everything, but hopefully it lets you make up for stuff and not make the same mistakes again.
