Commented on Paul The Octopus.
You know, somewhere I saw something that Paul the Octopus may have just prefered the color yellow, since every time he picked the flag that had the most yellow.

+1 for deadpool
No meme, just trolls.
Commented on Weeaboo.
Possibly of interest, I’ve seen a variant of this being used on 4chan’s /co/…“westaboo” or Japanese/Asians obsessed with American/Western culture. Although, I’ve seen Full Metal Alchemist described as “westaboo”, so perhaps like “weeaboo” the meaning isnt all that percise.
Commented on Mai Waifu.
Wow, you guys are leaving out a whole lot of context that explains the “mai waifu” phenomenon. In the Azumanga Diaoh episode where Kimura-sensei drops the photo and tells the girls that the woman is “MY WIFE” (or “mai waifu” as a native Japanese speaker migh pronounce the English words “my wife”), the girls can’t believe that such a beautiful woman would be married to a creep like him, so they assume that Kimura-sensei is actually in no way related to the woman and is just obsessed with her. (A few episodes later when they meet the woman, they are shocked when she confirms that she is, in fact, actually his wife.)
The girls’ reaction, and the idea that the “waifu” is somehow unobtainable, is central to the whole “mai waifu” phenomenon. It’s key to how the whole refering-to-favorite-female-cartoon/anime-character-your-“waifu” got started…if you said a real person was your waifu, it’d come across as too creepy/stalker-ish. But a fictional, 2D character you could never actually have a relationship with, that’s toungue-in-cheek self-depreciation. Which is why, I think, people get upset when other people take the “mai waifu” thing too seriously and get all obsessive over their fictional, 2D “waifu”…it goes against the spirit of the original joke.

“and so on ad nauseam, so to speak.”
Not only ad nauseam, but ad pukem!
Commented on Deathstroke.
In before deadpool (but not before Deadpool).
Deathstroke is a DC character. He is a viilian probably best known as a foe of the Teen Titans. (He is the primary villian of the Teen Titans cartoon, although there he’s refered to as Slade.)
Deadpool is a Marvel Character. He is a mercenary.
The Advice Dog-style images above use Deadpool. This is supposed to be a Deathstroke meme. FAIL.

Tycho is also one of the main characters of Penny Arcade. Tycho & Gabe are avatars of the two guys who draw and write the Penny Arcade comics.
