For three years people have been talking about how Boxxy’s fifteen minutes of fame is over. People don’t understand that the future that Andy Warhol spoke of in 1968 has come and gone. In THIS future, everybody is famous forever, because the internet is one huge collective memory. The interesting thing is that Catie Wayne seems to understand that better than anyone else . After returning to the internet, she hasn’t desperately scrambled to exploit her moment of fame. She settled in and started releasing videos at the rate of maybe one every 1-4 months. She has a website, a devoted following, her videos are getting views in the millions, and I think she’ll be able to keep doing what she’s doing for as long as she likes.

If you think she’s anti-intellectual or attention seeking, you’re not looking closely enough. She’s got her account back, she started her own site in the spring, and the new extra-strength Boxxy video may be the best yet. Now she has to expand her repertoire and ditch her deranged b-tard fans.
