I hope we can exchange some ideas regarding the research of memes. I try to approach the subject by adding Linguistic’s contribution to the occurence of the phenomenon.
By the way, I´m studying the Brazilian meme “Que deselegante” / “What inelegant” (poor translantion , indeed! How can that description be changed to “How impolite”?)
I´ve posted a considerable amount of new information about that specific Brazilian meme. What´s next now, so that it can be certified as an original meme?

After a long and hard week of thinking… I think I’ve pieced your profile together. Your name is Brad and your avatar is bread… You come out all soft and warm, but then noone eats you and you end up all hard and lonely.

I think the “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day” entry could use some work. The entry begins with South Park making it seem as if the problem originated there when in fact it most certainly does not. One has to scroll all the way to the bottom to read about the Jyllands-Posten fiasco of 2005. Also the article makes no mention of the French satire paper Charlie Hebdo which ran the cover on the left in 2011, had its headquarters destroyed in November by a petrol bomb attack, and resumed business by running the cover on the right.

Unfortunately, since eddsworld.co.uk is gone and now just redirects to the YouTube video saying that he passed away, I’ve lost my only source for the comics, games, and other non-Flash-animation content to add to the article.
Also, I’ve just undertaken a larger project here on KYM and I don’t think I can work on both. So, I’m removing myself as an editor.
