Yeah, the fact is I agree with you. I know that they react as they do because they feel threatened. Reading again what I wrote, I see I wasn’t really clear on this point, but I’m willing to say we should really stop posting images that are not strictly “memetic”. I personally think that pony art is memetic in itself, but I understand that most people prefer to consider the “meme” term in a more classic way. So yeah, let’s say we manage to persuade every image dumper out there to post only reaction faces or captions or meme cross-overs. It’s the only thing we can do on our part to try and respect the fact many users of KYM can’t stand ponies. But even then, we’d still have lots of pics, and what will happen when season 2 will begin? The fact is that MLP is a HUGE subculture, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. We’re so big we overshadow other memes. And I also think many people out there just can’t stand this fact, regardless of the amount on pony material posted. They CAN avoid pony content, the fact that the MLP page is always trending doesn’t mean they get to see ponies everywhere. Hay, they put up a filter just for us, and the spam problem in the forums is pretty much an exaggeration. So, yeah, we may try and limit pony material, but I fear people would complain anyway.
