@The Stare Master: If it’s anyone who’s uploaded at least 100 pictures, I’m guessing there are hundreds of them, although most of them will have a different automated title since they’ll also be Conversationalists and whatnot. Edit to add: Hmm, the admin area seems to be suggesting there are a little over 500 of them. I didn’t think they would show that way.

My 2012 New Year’s resolution: Let the world know that Milhouse IS a meme! (Done.)
Many users have included music on their pages, and while it seemed it would be rather unoriginal to do so myself, I recently thought, “Well, if I’m considering being unoriginal, why not go all the way?” So, my intention is now to include on this page a new cover song on a roughly weekly basis.

I was going to make it into a thread, then I made it into a blog post. Thgen I figured since I’ve done it before, why not make it a thread anyway? tl;dr version: Video games, even difficult ones, are designed with the intent that players will eventually win them. Because of this fact, does playing video games warp our expectations of real-life success?
Oddly enough, the user bestlifeinsurance does not appear to be selling anything, but the name sure sounds like a spambot. I’ll leave it to other mods to consider.
Perhaps most mods know this, but so long as I’m on a roll with it again, the common name thing is being used a lot again: if a user has a full common name, with or without spaces, they seem to almost always be a spambot. (“Ciaran Bennett”, “AdrianPiper” and “Alox tolker” as examples) Furthermore, I’m seeing a resurgence of spambots named with a random string of letters followed by a random string of numbers (“fngj683”, “djnac482”, “flofm493”, “dfkmo345” as examples) so if it’s short, unpronounceable, and...
As a database programmer, I can think of a lot of potential ways to track karma bombing, but as a longtime user of KYM, I can’t think of any good reasons to bother. Yeah, it’s annoying when someone tries to do it to you, but in the end, it’s just petty crap that wasted the bomber’s time; why waste your time worrying about it? I’ve said this before: if it helps you get your frustration out, feel free to downvote my post because I won’t give a crap.
Just bumping this old thread to say that I notice the tag “pokemon” causes not just “pokémon” but also “pokèmon” now. We should find who’s responsible and have them flogged with a tilde.
Well, at the time I came across this thread, I was listening to this, which is pretty darned good:
Affleck is decent enough choice. As was said, Daredevil was pretty bad, but it wasn’t because Affleck is a bad actor. I think there’s a good chance this movie could end up being pretty awful, but if it does, I doubt it will be because of poor casting. I’m more concerned about who’s going to be directing. Snyder did a decent job on Man of Steel, but I wasn’t highly impressed with Watchmen, which is the only other movie of his I’ve seen. Guess we’ll wait and see.
@BSoD: Sorry, I was going to ream you on your atrocious grammar, and decided not to. Next time I’ll hopefully know better. NCSA Mosaic! Let’s go oldschool!
Am I really going to be the first person to say that people ought to just use whatever feels comfortable to them and not fight over browser superiority? I use Chrome most of the time, but I’ve tried all the major browsers, and these days they all seem to work fairly nice.
Definitely seen it, but we don’t seem to have an entry for it. Googling…Coming back to the site…Apparently it’s I see what you did there.

I did improv drama in college, and while I don’t have any visual art skills, I do think my writing is pretty good. As I’ve mentioned from time to time, I have some blogs, one of which is a collaborative writing project, one of which is Biblical analysis, and the last of which is whatever I feel like writing about including communism, violence, same-sex marriage, and yes, even Internet memes.
Kyntak wrote: Also, this person might not have needed to vent so much on their blog if they could have expressed themselves on the original forum. Wouldn’t it be weird if it was Sarkeesian’s secret strategy to refuse to allow direct criticism in order to force debate on her content to spread out to a variety of places on the web? I seriously doubt it, but dang, look at the shitstorm she’s managed to stir up just by disallowing comments. Oh dear. Defending the contradictions and quirks of the bible,...
Kyntak wrote: Not too dissimilar to a student using sparknotes instead of reading a book to its entirety). The smart student reads the book and the notes. But yeah, if she used footage from someone else’s LP, she ought to credit them. Not in defense of Sarkeesian on this, but in response to the screencaps, I wonder which is lamer: lazily borrowing someone else’s footage without crediting, or combing through YouTube videos to make all those screencaps? What fuels that level of determination? And on...
Kyntak wrote: Also, another small jab at her. I watched it again and contrary to what she said, she never mentioned Super Princess Peach in either of her other videos, in fact, she even said that Super Mario Bro.s 2 was the only game in which she was playable. At about eight minutes into the first video, she says that Peach is only playable in a single one of the “core series” games. Super Princess Peach is not part of the “core series”, apparently. I’m not sure what the distinction is, but I can see...
