Commented on Rebecca Black - Friday.

Evidently, according to Huffpost (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/16/rebecca-black-twitter_n_836677.html#s254306&title=WINNING), not only does Rebecca Black appear to be self-aware on Twitter, but the video was first brought to attention by no more of a terrible content finder than MST3K’s Mike Nelson.

Commented on Escalator Spin.

This is essentially the same principle used in the famous OK Go On Treadmills video – putting yourself on two conveyor belts going in opposite directions will make you spin.

Commented on Trololo / Russian Rickroll.

Shown up on Colbert Report. I think that automatically qualifies it as a meme.

Commented on Phonetic Translations .

Here’s the “Israelites” ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxELSzay2lc

On another note, I feel like “Shreds” should be around here somewhere. I know it probably deserves its own meme page (I haven’t seen it on its site) but it deserves mention here since some of StSanders’ newest ones (Kiss, The Rolling Stones) rely on “misread lips” to produce the new bizarre lyrics – kind of a spin on the “phonetic translations” principle. Thoughts?

You’re welcome for nothing.

Commented on Diabeetus.

Who could forget The Colbert Report pieces, with “phone calls” Stephen would take in the early morning from “Brimley” (voiced by Colbert), almost always utilizing that word. Search “Wilford Brimley” on ColbertNation.com if you’re uninitiated.

I’m just saying that, like our friend Keyboard Cat, the Stewart/Colbert cabal may have pushed this a little further. Hopefully not over a shark or anything.
