Maybe I’m missing something, but there seems too be a correlation between this and bears, spaghetti, fedoras, and capes. Are those separate memes? Because if they are I’ve never heard of them.

@Harry Bossert
Your understanding of the term “meme” is flawed. Memes are references common cultural experiences that are spread by communication. This is a meme, as are many other things that are very different from the traditional mudkips.
On another note there seems to be three parts to this meme, the actual event part, the exploitable part, and… Uhh…
Anyway, if there’s a little more spread this might qualify for full meme status IMO.

I’m pretty sure meanings of words and phrases can change over time.
I’m pretty sure this is one of those cases.

That would be sad, but better it end now while it’s still loved for the most part.

Ah, this was the meme that brought me for my very first KYM experience, long before I knew what a meme was. Good times, good times.

Already exists. +deadpool
Commented on 3 Guys 1 Hammer.
Now hang on a second before you just slam deadpool onto your keyboards. We need to remember that our objective is too study memes, even the dark dank corners of memedom, so is it’s content really an immediate disqualification?
That being said, I personally am of the belief that shock video’s are NOT memes in general, although their reaction videos are.
So perhaps we could remove the video, rename this “3 Guys, 1 Hammer Reaction Videos”, focus the article on the reaction videos instead of actual video, and then I would be for confirming this.
Commented on Advice Animals.
Excellent article, exactly what we need to tie all the advice animals, etc together.

I’m not being a moralfag, I was for draw Mohammad day, but this is seriously not a meme, so maybe instead of just thumbs downing my comment you could give a reason as to why you seem to think something that has no spread, and by your own Google Insights search has virtually no popularity, is a meme.
This site doesn’t exist so you can tell the world what you think is funny or not funny, it exists so that we can study memes, what they are, where they come from, and how they change and grow. I think that might be something that some of our mods have lost sight of.
Commented on "Naturally, I Finished My Set" / Cameron Leslie.
I haven’t seen this many other places, so naturally, I think we should let it finish it’s set before we decide on it’s final fate.
Commented on Fire In The Hole.
How did this get confirmed? There is no spread. I’ve never seen it on /b/, in fact I’ve never heard of it before until I read this, and I can tell from the pixels and having seen quite a few memes in my time.
Just because something is in the news, and YouTube, does NOT make it a meme.
News + Internet =/= Instameme
It has virtually no support in the comments. At the very most it might be a derivative of Coning, but I really am not seeing how this got confirmed.

Lulzsec gives Anon a bad name. They need too go. I mean I can see Fox, but Bethesda? Mojang? Come on. They’re not doing it for the lulz, that’s just an excuse. They’re just thieves using Anon as a mask, and leaving him with the blame.

Ok, I’ve got a bit of a story. When I was a little one, less than 5 yrs of age, my mum had a friend she went to college with, something like, Kimmy or Kathy, something along those lines, and she came to visit. She had a few sons, one in particular must have been about 12-15 years, and had just purchased a cool new Gameboy Colour. I thought this was so cool, so I pretty much spent the entire time over his shoulder, watching him play. I know he knew how to hack the games. I remember seeing him play Creepy Black, and I remember I couldn’t sleep for a week. It’s a relief that I know what this memory is about now.
