Oh, and on the “Hot Topic using /b/ to cash in” subject… you COULD say that Know Your Meme is doing the same thing, but at least KYM has the decency to not use the original meme images, limiting how recognizable it is to those who actually know the meme. Hot Topic was, quite frankly, doing it wrong since they didn’t even get the number of Fs and Us in the image right nor its placement. =/

I’d sooner buy a shirt from KYM store anyway…

I dunno about this. I /do/ know that this actually happened because of all the Facebook posts I saw recently, however. (http://www.geekosystem.com/hot-topic-ends-fffuuuuuuu-shirts/)

Give it time to spread, I say. If the ‘Hot Topic is Racist’ meme catches on I’m gonna laugh my ass off.

I can see the opinion on this seems pretty mixed.

Personally I think it’s a meme because even though it’s had its share of IRL and media exposure it is still very prominent on the internets. A lot of things start IRL and go Interwebs meme anyway, so why is this an exception? I see it on YouTube and Facebook comments constantly.

+1 Confirm, although I agree it should be renamed along the lines of “You sir, are X” or combined with “You Sir”.

I swear I’ve seen this fad everywhere on YouTube. I think image derivatives would make it more of a meme and less of a ‘phrase,’ but it’s still spreading nonetheless.

+1 Confirm.

Just a minor correction, here. That’s NOT a Garry’s Mod video. It’s a mod of Half-Life 1, and I think it’s called Scientist Slaughterhouse.

Love this meme. It was my favorite part of the movie and I’m actually surprised it caught on to the internet.

Disregard last comment, I missed that you mentioned Prince of Darkness.

It’s practically everywhere on YTMND; I’d say it’s a meme.

Just add in the actual movie it’s from and add a little info on its origin and original derivatives.

+ 1 confirm.

@ Hectorius Hessy

Please tell me why. There are plenty of phrases in the Internet Slang category that don’t have many image derivatives but are seen practically everywhere and yield significant search results.

I don’t mind constructive criticism on my first entry, but don’t try trolling me.

Working on it.

All I know is there are two known derivatives, ‘omgwtfbbqhax’ and ‘omgwtfbbqsauce.’

It’s a little less meme-worthy and more of a phrase, but if it gets deadpool’d, it gets deadpool’d.

Created a meme entry for OMGWTFBBQ.
