Well, I’ve been away for the last week, but there’s a big one: the Cala Boca Galvão If I’m able to improve the submission, there’s a lot of information to add. It’s probably one oh the most popular memes that appeared on Brazil until now, and definitely World Cup related. The hashtag is on TT of Twitter since the beggining of the cup (with peaks when Brazil is playing). We had this meme in Brazil some days ago, about Tulio Tanaka, a player of the japanese team (but born in Brazil) that acidentally broke Drogba’s arm in a pre-cup game. Since Drogba is the best player from Ivory Coast, direct adversary of Brazil in the group, Tanaka became sort of a hero, and went on brazilian twitter TT (with jokes pretty much like Chuck Norris, but mostly soccer related). I´m currently doing a research about memes for Doctorate in cultural studies/media studies. I have some papers published about it, but i´m from Brazil so they are all in portuguese. I guess it´s not a small one, it’s a big one. It’s mostly used as a text meme in forums, so maybe it is not offering a lot of image examples to prove it´s a strong meme. But i think it should not be hard to prove as a meme. If you´re willing to submit i can halp you with the research. (e, como você fala português, vai facilitar lol).
