Your avatar makes me smile. I come to your page just to watch it sometimes.

Hey, could you get banned again? I’m in the mood for another Advance pride parade.

What was your opinion on Skyward Sword if I might ask? I was still able to enjoy the game, but I thought it was rather disappointing by Zelda standards.

Hmm, I also didn’t mind the ocarina in OOT and MM or even really the gimmicks in the DS games (Even though, as a musician, I was completely humiliated by how much ass I sucked at trying to play that stupid spirit flute.)

The thing that bugs me about the look of this new Zelda game is that it just seems so immersion breaking. With things like the ocarina in OOT or the sword mechanics SS, it always felt like Nintendo was using new controls to explore new game mechanics that fit seamlessly with the atmosphere of the game. When playing the ocarina, I wasn’t fingering the c buttons, I was using a magical instrument to help me on my adventure. In this new game, it looks more like using game mechanics to explore new controls. It feels like it would be difficult for me to ‘forget’ that I’m playing a video game. Immersion is such an important part of the Zelda series, so I’m apprehensive.

That new Zelda game looks a bit gimmicky. Disappointing really.

Hey man, my dominance of Exudes’ wall is starting to outweigh yours. You should get on there and help redress the balance. We’re like a two hole punch yin and yang, we work best together.

If you really want to get philosophical about it, I think attempting to find a hard definition of what is or is not art is impossible and not something to waste your time with. This is one of the few areas where I feel philosophy yields a really solid answer.

Coming up with a theory about what is or is not art is doomed to fail because there will always be a solid counterexample to defeat that theory. It’s a problem with the pursuit of all general categories which Ludwig Wittgenstein proposed called family resemblance.

I don’t give a shit about ART as it is comprehended by the pretentious douchebags of the world. I give a shit about sexy pictures and songs and stories.

I was being ironic pleb. 4’33 and 1000 hours of staring are both complete ass.

Easy. I’ll defend it with only two premises

1: If John Cage’s 4’33 seconds is art, then ‘1000 hours of staring is art’
2: John Cage’s 4’33 is accepted as art
Therefore ‘1000 hours of staring’ is art.

Checkmate.

Oh, by the way, I know you’re an uncultured pleb despite your pathetic attempts to hide it, so here’s 4’33. Enjoy the masterwork of the great 20th century composer John Cage you heathen!

>Animator master race.
>Still images are lame.

Bitch, do you even Schopenhauer?

“Perhaps the reason why common objects in still life seem so transfigured and generally everything painted appears in a supernatural light is that we then no longer look at things in the flux of time and in the connection of cause and effect …. On the contrary, we are snatched out of that eternal flux of all things and removed into a dead and silent eternity. In its individuality the thing itself was determined by time and by the [causal] conditions of the understanding; here we see this connection abolished and only the Platonic Idea is left.”

According to Schopenhaur, you fail at art.

That’s one of my favorite piano songs, thought you might like it. If you want, I can send you the sheets for it: I sat down and transcribed that son of a bitch perfectly :)
