According to Google Insights, Doctor Octagonapus is a more popular search term than Doctor Octogonapus (except for four months in late 2009/ early 2010). For the partial month of July, Doctor Octagonapus is at 94, while Doctor Octogonapus is at 0. I’m going to side with the more popular spelling variation.

Yes, but how do you spell the word octagon? Case in point being; is the emphasis more on octopus or octagon?

I’ve actually seen it spelled both ways. And that’s how Google says it’s spelled. We should all obey what Google says…
