Commented on Birthday Scenario Game

Reminds me of the thing where you would find out your psychic name or whatever. Or the thing from the Captain Underpants book.

Oooh, memories.

AHHH. The comments hurt. DON’T DISCOUNT THE OLYMPICS AS A MEME. EVERYONE FREAKING TALKS ABOUT, AND YOU SEE IT EVERYWHERE, THEREFORE IT IS A MEME.
This, however, not. If something is funny, putting words in Impact with a black outline and then submitting it to Know Your Meme may make it a meme, but not legitimately. I hope this meme is ostracized and disallowed from playing tag with the other memes. It can go sit in the corner drawing dogs with sidewalk chalk while the others talk about the actual Olympics, instead of this image of the Queen being old and sad, which happens at all of her public events.

@gi97ol
Well seeing as now “well known” constitutes a meme, and memes are no longer concepts but also people and websites, we might as well count it.
But he seems unworthy of his own page in a website about memes. Maybe the bronies need to start a wikia page (I highly doubt they have not done so already, so Google it…) and put all of this stuff there instead of here.
No hate, just saying. You can’t just say “Hmmm… Not a meme,” and in the same way you can’t just say “Hmmm… I like it and so do a few others. It’s a meme.”

I’m liking this. But some of the derivative works are awful. Not even clever, just forcing some other meme into this one. If that’s what a meme is, the inbred offspring of memes, what’s the point?

I RESPECT Pewdiepie. But Nova all the way. Until death.

Maybe because his and Dan’s “Hershel’s Land” series forced me to watch The Walking Dead, which became an amazingly obsessive three days.

Also, sp00n. I rest my case.

Just because the internet didn’t make it doesn’t mean it’s not a meme.

Advice Animals individually are not memes. I am going to push this as often and in as many places as possible: TO DEEM SOMETHING A MEME YOU MUST UNDERSTAND WHAT MEMETICS IS. A meme is a concept prominent in a culture (in KYM’s case, internet culture). Advice Animals are extremely prominent in internet culture. However, individually, you cannot say they are memes because SOMEONE MADE THEM SO THEY WOULD BECOME MEMES. They woke up and said “I have a good idea for a meme”. No, you don’t. You have a good idea for a series of images based off a meme.

A meme happens accidentally, not on purpose.

It’s definitely a meme. I have seen this multiple times, on multiple sites. Now it just needs research.

OHHHHH MYYYYY GOOOOOOOSOSHSSHSHSHSHSHSHHSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…………..
I think there should be an entry test for this site. In order to create an account for Know Your Meme you should be required to take a test on memetics. Anyone who cannot properly use the Shift key or any sort of punctuation should be banned immediately. Each entry should have at least two three to five sentence paragraphs on the subject, and ten images, videos, or quotes (depending on the type). If the entry fails to meet one or more of these requirements, the entry will be immediately deleted.

If a meme is truly a meme, meaning that it is a prominent CONCEPT in internet culture (not an image, an idea, etc.), the entry creator would EASILY be able to meet those requirements.

Also, anything with “meme” in the title is most likely NOT a meme. Milhouse is Not a Meme is one of the few exceptions of an actual memetic concept with “meme” in the title.

So is this supposed to be like Milhouse is Not a Meme, only people say it’s a meme when in actuality it’s not? So truthfully the people who go along with it are Milhouse… Intriguing…

I’m so confused. I’m getting thumbs down for giving possible entry additions. Not a furry, but I do watch FPS. It was originally intended for furries, and is the LONGEST RUNNING internet puppet show (11+ years, 500+ episodes, every Sunday except on con weekends). Read the Wikipedia page for more info. The cast includes Herbie Bearclaw and Kuddlepup, and Uncle Kage watches and sometimes calls in to the show (e.g. The Sinkhole episode).

Please, for the sake of humanity, tell me you get the reference. If not I will begin advocating a policy of mandatory Douglas Adams readings in all elementary schools. The entire series. The movie will be shown AFTER the reading, as you cannot fully appreciate Douglas Adams until you’ve actually read him, and the references in the movie will not be nearly as enjoyable.

And to cover all years, we’ll need to begin assigning it as summer reading in junior high and high school, and a prerequisite for all college courses.

Homeschoolers, you too.

For underprivileged countries, a copy of the Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy will be included in every care package.
