Forest is an internet scientist. Lover of internet’isms of all sorts. He is a Redditer, makes his own funny web videos, and isn’t afraid to lurk 4Chan when he needs to get to the sauce of a mystery. Even though his internet research keeps him busy, he always loves to be contacted and told how amazing/horrible he is.
Always have to steal my thunder. :P
Hey everyone, Let me clear up some of the confusion. 1. I didn’t say anything about being manager of KYM in any way. Considering the state of journalism and the fact that I wasn’t in direct contact with the author of the article outside of the interview itself (my PR person from LOLWrok was) I had little ability to have them correct the article. I believe that credit should be given where credit is due. 2. I do literally have 0 edits on the site. This is because running the site is not my job. However,...
But seriously, mysterious fan girl, I appreciate your tumblr, but at the same time, it is all about me, so if I like it then I am just liking myself, which seems kind of douchey, but if I say I don’t like it that seems kind of douchey too, so I am technically locked inside a social paradox where I have absolutely no idea how to respond, but by be being on this thread I am clearly discouraging you from participating because I am here, but I’d be lying if after discovering this thread I said I would not...
This whole thread is making me LOL SO HARD. SO HARD…
Atully is Frst
Wow, fan girl is really on the ball. She is clearly following this thread, and tumbled my response already… Hello fan girl!
Hey doods, Yeah, I have totally seen this tumblr and it I am both honored and sitting in a mental institution because of it. I will be interested to see where it goes… or at least how far it goes. When she starts stalking me IRL, then I will be worried. :P I work on a bunch of stuff: We are back in production for Know Your Meme, so expect more new episodes and style of episodes down the pipeline. It makes me SOOOO happy that you would refer to Forndognoms as the best youtube channel on Earth, I need to...
@Derpy Hooves is back at school: Thanks for the compliment. I had a great time working on this episode! @That-guy: I am a lover of all things Lauren Faust I am glad to hear people are liking this episode! We put a lot of working into the writing and production and it seems like it payed off. There are many other elements to the story that we were not able to include, but the video was already 7 minutes, so adding much else would have pushed it over 8 minutes. The goal of this episode was the focus on...
One thing that continues to amaze me with viral videos is not how often they are fake, but the vast amount of people who believe they are real. What is even more surprising is how many people believe videos that clearly defy the laws of physics. Here are two examples of what I am talking about: Amazing Water Trick! How to Suspend Water Without a Cup! Walk on water There are many other hoax videos that show people doing incredibly dangerous things: .50 Cal William Tell (This is less of a hoax video as...
Oh man… I like “Puddi Puddi” a lot! So much I made my own parody.
I am doubtful. There have been lots of conservative people in eastern Washington who wanted to split away from the more liberal westside of the state. They would make proposals and get some local news attention, then people realize the idea is stupid and everyone forgets about it again. Rinse and repeat. Things are pretty well solidified in the US and it would take some major events for anyone to seriously consider splitting up a state. The rest of the US wouldn’t let them do it anyways… no one wants to...
http://www.vidcon2011.com/ It is in LA near Hollywood.
Is anyone attending Vidcon this year? This will be my first year in attendance and I would love to host some kind of informal meetup for Know Your Meme. Let me know if you will be there and if you have any thoughts on good places to meet.
@Kalmo So people’s reactions to the attempting to force a meme could be considered a meme? Does that mean that the “Millhouse is not a meme” already has dibs on being the meme for forced memes OR does it mean that “X is not a meme” is or could be the meme to describe the public reaction to forced memes?
How do people feel about the idea of “forced memes”? Is the process of trying to make something a meme enough reason to prevent it from becoming a meme? Is “Millhouse is not a meme” a meme or a forced meme?
