I’m not active anymore because my life has its changes. I’m still interested in memes, especially japanese ones, but there is plenty of other people that can do better than me at tracking the appropriate information on thoses ones (they still do an amazing job here and my native language is french so it’s not really helping to start :-/ ). You’ll find plenty of great people around here (if you ignore some trolls :-P) and I have no doubt you’ll enjoy your time here.

“Matsuda you idiot !” shouldn’t be the right tag. Even if it’s a popular sentence used in those MADs.

Currently, they’re mostly regrouped under the tag “バナナロイド” (Bananaroido) because the way Raito says “This is a trap” sounds like “Ko no banana !” (or banana powder ?)

According to NND encyclopedia, MAD of Death Note were made almost quite at the beginning of the anime, but raised a lot when the show ended, using it’s famous final scene in many, many videos, which were also deleted massively and quickly due to copyright infringement.

Until I see more derivated works from this, I can’t confirm it to be a meme itself. It’s mix of Rin Kagamine, Initial D, Billy Herington and Hatsune Miku’s “Miku Miku Shitte No Ageru” thrown together in a great 3D CG animation. ^^

I would like more information about the music too. About the original one, it’s said that it was made in one hour only.

I don’t see it as a meme. It’s just a website containing posted conversation from IRC, just like Knowyourmeme contains posted discussion, photo and video about memes, so it’s not a meme itself :(

@watcheroflost : I don’t think a particuliar song, besides being a song itself could be a meme. Otherwise, you could consider Kirby musics to be meme as well. It’s just a popular music as are Kirby’s theme (at least, Gourmet Race could be a meme because of other caracteristics besides its theme)
