I can’t imagine any more tactful or timely way of saying this.
Dr. Oblivious and Cpt. Obvious be trollin’.
I see little things all the time. I’m a writer/editor, so I catch little grammar and spelling things as I scan through articles, but sometimes I feel silly emailing or messaging an admin about every little thing I see. How much does everybody care about the little stuff? I may be more of a stickler than most.
For those of you subscribed to this, this is the USS Failboat.
@Kip I work on a military base, and we have a BK in our PX. It’s cool, because you don’t have to pax tax on things there, so if you order off the dollar menu, your order comes out in whole dollars (instead of the 10.50 it’d be in VA if I bought things off a dollar menu off base).
I see backward memes being a parent entry for things like those you listed. It would be a meme that, in general, plays off the common knowledge of an established meme in an ironic way (this sentence brought to you by obviousness). I think you could even stretch it to some of the 4chan reversals, like posts where everybody seems to be a sterling member of society. Just thoughts.
I used to have a blog on McDonald’s for a nonfiction class I was taking. You learn some interesting things, like a guy in India posted telling me how they had just released McNuggets, and they were sold out. I was like man, sold out of McNuggets? But then cultural relativity hit and it all made sense. It’s something I wouldn’t have otherwise thought about. Now, I’m not saying the same thing is a driving force with hot dogs (although the Jewish population would be out), but it’s interesting to...
I have an irregular EKG. As such, several doctors have warned me not to partake in any unnecessary overexertion. I take Brazilian Jiu Jitsu three times a week, and have climbed several mountains. I’d rather die having fun that live forever on a couch.
I’m with Chris on the no highway signs idea, and let’s not post consecutively. Without these two guidelines, I could /thread in about 10 minutes. Just my $0.02.
She could be my pokeparent any day.
@Watcher Yes, both legal and free of viruses (depending on where you get it, of course).
Yeah, I’m Adobe certified and used to work as a graphics artist. A laptop of mine that I used at home was stolen, and after I stopped working as an artist, I couldn’t justify the price of Photoshop just for doodling (or favors from friends, which are more common than jobs). So, I found GIMP, and honestly, for most of the jobs people need, it’s more than adequate.
There’s also GIMP (Gnu Image Manipulator Program). It has many of the same basic features, but is free.
http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=amidoinitrite&cmpt=q Well, it looks like May ‘07 is a good bet for it’s appearance. As for the where, or the who, it looks like it’s research time. Edit: should I actually submit this as a meme? As I search, I’m seeing it being used as a macro quite a bit.
Has anybody considered this as an entry? Perhaps for the dictionary… I mean, it’s pretty commonly used on the webs, and can be used either for actual confirmation or as irony in blatantly contradictory uses. Just a thought. Let me know.
