I’m a denizen of strange regions and unusual lands.
You’d be wise, when things are odd, to take my hand.
I’ll be your guide through nonsense and reason,
because both logic and madness have their season.
Each ends and begins in one place; the human mind.
Speaking of, will you help me my mind find?
Off it has wondered, so curious and easily lost
Now where have has it gone? I’m not sure.
Also, I write pony fanfictions now. Take a peek!

Hobbit Extended Edition
Effectively we could have as much as fifty years to figure out how to solve this conundrum before robots can cheaply and effectively outstrip us in all these jobs. Besides, we should never underestimate the human mind’s capacity to solve big problems, as well as it’s capacity to produce frivolous or nonsensical new things.
To be fair, I believe the points in the video are right: Automation of jobs is inevitable. However, that doesn’t mean that all or even a majority of jobs will be replaced.
First of all there’s a finite amount of resources we can pull out of this planet so long as we remain exclusively on it, so while flesh is fallible and dumb it is also cheaper and more readily abundant than minerals, which will spike and then cap as they become completely available to us. Even if we were to find a way to recycle most of all the material we used, the creation of automatons would soon become a stable but reliable unit of manufacturing production because there would still be some established minimum price to effectively produce one while still turning a profit.
Robots as a concept will not go out of style, so a new model will be produced every year if not every quarter with newer features, programs, etc. However, there is also a finite amount of energy we can produce here on earth as well. Because of the rapidly approaching zenith of industrialization in China and India, whose populations together make up almost a third of the world, the demand for energy will rise while the supply will do its best to keep up. If unresolved this will lead to an energy crisis, point being that robots will by necessity continue to demand power, and since right now they are still not quite as good at everything as we are their growth will be limited for the remainder of the crisis.
