Yeah, Citation can be an asshole at times (and by at times I mean all the time), but he’s perfectly aware of that and you ragequitting the thread gives him a higher sense of entitlement.

Oh god. Don’t get me started on that. I don’t really listen to anything (Foo Fighters being the exception) less than around 20 years old. even with rap I tend to stick to 90s and early 2000s back when it had some substance to it rather than a repeated kick pedal and “BOOTY! CLUB! BOOTY! CLUB!” over the top or some guy rapping pseudo deep lyrics over a generic chord sequence. I can’t stand pop music either. It’s all just “I LOVE MY BABY BUT MY BABY’S GONE AND NOW I’M SAD” or “I LOVE MY BABY AND SHE’S HERE AND THINGS ARE GOOD”.

The thing is, it’s probably best to not let other people’s opinions get to you. Just because other people like a type of music that you dislike doesn’t mean you should get annoyed. I used to hate, with a passion, anybody who liked punk music but then I realised that I was just being a dick. You just need to understand that there’s rarely a reason for liking a type of music, it’s just personal preference. I guess I stopped hating other types of music when I realised that some of the music I listen to sounds really really horrible.
Anyway, I don’t know if I’m just rambling or if I’ve completely missed your point so I apologise in case I’ve done that.

I like rap and hip hop but I like to keep it separate from my ponies. If I listen to rap I wanna hear some guy talk about ‘the hood’ not ponies. I also don’t like people like living tombstone, I don’t really know who Glaze is but generally I dislike electronica music so I pretty much don’t know any of the big musicians in the community lol.

I saw your post about not liking Mic the Mic and Jackle-App and stuff and I thought I’d come over here and say I agree with you. I don’t really like them either. It actually makes me feel disconnected from the brony musician community because I don’t know any of the big names and everyone else likes the music I don’t like.
Sometimes I get annoyed that all those musicians are really big in the fandom and there’s hardly and big rock musicians in the fandom. Although maybe I’m just a bastard and it’s just my vanity and narcissism telling me that I deserve to be bigger than them.

I would say you should focus on what you’re working on right now. Doing a rendition of Smile, Smile, Smile would be really hard. Like, impossibly hard. That song was more or less perfect as-is.

Use it, I think you’ll find it helps.
