Sorry about uploading an incomplete article. I planned on working on it after finishing a project I had to do for college. Unfortunately, I have to move soon, so I won’t have the spare time I thought I would. I’ll try to work on this when I can. I’m going to look for the KYM editing guide right now to see if I can AT LEAST get something up.

But I uploaded this early for a reason. Now we have a placeholder where images and videos can be uploaded. So if you have any examples of this meme in use, be sure to upload them! I already added a few to the image gallery.

Also, congrats on the new computer. You getting Borderlands on Console or PC? I’m looking into getting some software so I can play on my Mac since I don’t have a decent PC, and I don’t plan on getting X-Box Live again.

Haha! It’s funny to hear someone say shotguns suck. I honestly thought they were damn near OP. Reminds me of an interview with Gearbox about playtesting. Some playtesters thought some manufacturers were terrible, while others thought they were nearly too good.

I really like SMG’s, too. SMG’s are almost always my best weapon in ANY shooter. They’re just so versatile, and come in so many varieties. I have a Maliwan x4 Shock SMG, it’s a bit slower than usual, but it’s accurate, has a decent scope, and actually packs a punch. It works great at any range, and on any enemy short of Tankenstein. My brother has a Torgue with a fire rate of over 19. It’s accuracy takes a hit, but he uses it with an ammo regen mod, so he just sprays it mindlessly into big crowds.

Totally found myself a bitchin’ new wallpaper. Apparently, those insects in that image can turn invisible, too. Pandora has some pretty cool wildlife. And check out that scenery! It’s not more desert! I’m loving the new map variety.

Well, I usually treat my revolvers as revolvers. Since I like handguns as much as Snipers, I usually have one. Maybe that’s why I don’t like ‘em as much… it’s just the same shit but different.

My skills stay pretty even too, with the exception of one or two obvious least-favorites for each class. My pistols are always way up there, though. First thing I ever maxed out, in fact.

Have you checked out any of the new skills from Borderlands 2? You may be interested to hear the new soldier can teleport his turret like a longbow now.

My biggest issues are that they get few shots and their reload isn’t spectacular. My proficiency might just be too low, but it very well might be my perks. Roland can extend clips, and Mordecai can increase reload speeds significantly, nullifying those issues. I rarely play as those two, so that could be the problem. Also, I can NEVER find one with a good scope. I have found 360+ damage ones, though. And that’s back when I was only level 50. I found two or three Dahl Stompers.

Yeah, you read right. They’re pretty rare, though. I only ever found one Dove with Hornet mods, and I had the misfortune to find it while pissing around on playthrough one and got a seriously under-leveled one. I PUT ON A HACKED SHIELD AND USED IT ANYWAY.

True, Dahl guns don’t stand out. They’re supposedly going to function more like guns in modern military shooters in the sequel. As a CoD fan, maybe you’ll like the new ones more. I don’t really play CoD myself, but I would certainly like a rifle that handled like the FAMAS. The burst-fire rifles in Borderlands felt clunky and slow by comparison. And it’s a shame S&S doesn’t stand out. The color schemes looked pretty pimp. They make some good machine pistols, and an occasional good machine gun, but they’re unspectacular for the most part.

The Hornet is a two-shot burst fire pistol, making it REALLY stand out. Aside from that, it also has a REALLY good damage output due to keeping its raw power and having Maliwan-grade tech. Most of the ones I’ve seen have bad recoil, and the accuracies vary; but whenever you do come across one, I highly recommend you hold onto it and practice with it a while before tossing it. Also, “The Dove” can randomly come equipped with Hornet tech, resulting in a Hornet with infinite ammo.

Explosive weapons really aren’t that useful. They work pretty well on spiderants and larva crab worms, but not much else. If you get a rapid-fire weapon with an explosive attachment, it can be pretty fun. They typically work better close-range, though, which could account for you disliking them with your ranged combat focus.

Oh yeah, and +1 Street Cred for Idiot Box reference. I love me some BoSchitt.

Snipers are a fine choice my friend. My favorite weapons are pistols and snipers. Favorite for cool factor, though not necessarily my best. I’m not the best sniper, but that might be why I like them so much. I like a challenge, and the sniper sorta represents the pinnacle of aiming ability. Also, sniper rifles are really fuckin’ cool.

I usually go with caustic or shock just because I think they’re cooler. Fire’s overdone in a lot of games, imo, and caustic weapons fare just as well in most cases. Also, I’m kinda disappointed at the lack of new elements in the sequel. Amp? Come on… I want ice weapons!

Hyperion, Atlas, and Maliwan make Good weapons more consistently, I won’t lie about that. Still the other manufacturers have a few rare gems. Ever had a Dahl Hornet? My brother was using a level 12 Hornet until he was half-way through playthrough 2. I’m kinda surprised you don’t like Dahl, seeing as how Roland is your favorite. I suppose you don’t use burst fire weapons? I won’t say anything as for shields. I kinda experiment with them. Different shields work for different situations, play styles, etc., so I don’t have a favorite. Cracked Sash might be my favorite, even though it’s so shitty, just because it’s unique. BUT GOD DAMN, IS IT SHITTY.

Personally, I agree with Torgue being a bore. Vladof accuracy is less than stellar, but their surreal fire rates are amazing with ammo-regen mods. Sometimes, it’s fun to just take a break from aiming and spray bullets. And yes, half of Jakobs weapons are shit. But when they put out a good weapon, THEY PUT OUT A GOOD WEAPON. Their fire-rates are low, but they only make three types of weapons; two of which increase in fire rate with proficiency. I never had issues with recoil, though. The recoil matches the speed usually, negating the issue.

Cartoon violence ain’t the only thing. I advise you to take a look at her Rainbow Dash shrine again.

But that stuff doesn’t bother me. I’ve seen some shit man… this doesn’t even compare.

Hyperion probably has the most well-balanced stuff. Like you said, precision, speed, AND capacity? Damn fine weapons. Atlas is also pretty well-rounded, but some of their common weapons have TERRIBLE recoil. But when you do find a good Atlas, they’re usually better than everything else.

Maliwan… oh man. I love and hate Maliwan. They may be lacking in power, but I think their elemental damage is a bit TOO good. Maybe I should just stop using Cobalt variations of their weapons. On the positive side, fulgurating weapons are decent on a good variety of enemies without being OP as fuck, Hellfire grade, so I can have fun while still having a challenge. I always liked shock more than fire anyway.

Continuing from our Borderlands discussion, shotguns are always my thing in games. I suppose it’s just a matter of playstyle. Hunters and Deaths are some of my faves for Mordecai and Roland, definitely. But if you ever do try out Berserker or Siren to get in close, I gotta tell ya, a Jakobs or Tediore with a double-barrel cylinder is pretty awesome. The clip reduction almost always translates to a boost in power. The power boost makes Tediores actually usable, and the small clip makes no difference when you reload faster than you can even fire. And, I don’t think I need to tell you why Jakobs with more power is rad as all hell. If you fight from a range, chances are you’ve used one of their snipers or revolvers. DAMN. Probably my favorite manufacturer.

And I had no idea that Evil Harpoons could legitimately exist until you brought them up the other day. Can’t help ya there man, sorry.

But yeah, anyway, if I only did comics or fics, that would be a cool concept to tackle. I’m starting to get the hang of audio software, but I don’t think that’s an easy idea to convey musically. :V Too bad.

You mentioned you might do a comic for it in the General. Just out of curiosity, would you do a Queen Chrysalis backstory, or a “what-if” scenario with Celestia like you were insinuating they were trying to achieve with the cocoon? Or maybe the story of some random nameless changeling?

Also, have you seen the movie District 9? I was thinking about this “royal jelly” concept, then suddenly remembered that movie, and that idea blew my mind.

I was going back through Pony General today and saw your theory on Royal Jelly. I seriously doubt something like that would ever be made canon, but that’s a real cool theory. Hell, I’d read a fanfic of that, and I don’t read fanfics.

Also, do you watch Venture Bros.? Just curious, because I actually first heard about royal jelly from an episode of that show.

Do you listen to breakcore any? I listen to it a LOT, and breakcore is big on sampling. Still haven’t checked out Azumanga Daioh yet, though. Been preoccupied with college. I’ve gotta finish a project for Pro Tools by Sunday. Hopefully this practice will help me suck less at sample editing!
