Hi there, Julie Anna!
I appreciate your contact. I suppose you might have run into my Master´s dissertation and a few articles of my own that I mentioned through that dissertation. Those works would be a good starting point for you to get acquainted with the (linguistically-oriented) approach that I suggest to define and analyse Internet memes’ propagation and the evolution of their phenomena.
My e-mail address, and what is more, my dissertation and its references are available to be visualized and downloaded here:

In that way you can get in touch with me and tell me where you study, what is your linguistic theoretical orientation as well as what you plan/intend to do exactly.

Best regards,

Cláudio, é importante postar alguma coisa ( sua área de interesse ou abordagem) no fórum para ver se movimentamos as coisas por lá e conseguimos descobrir mais pessoas interessadas, que, talvez, possam contribuir com troca de informação e experiências.

Hi there, Brad!
I see that you´re following me in here. : )
I hope we can exchange some ideas regarding the research of memes. I try to approach the subject by adding Linguistic’s contribution to the occurence of the phenomenon.
By the way, I´m studying the Brazilian meme “Que deselegante” / “What inelegant” (poor translantion , indeed! How can that description be changed to “How impolite”?)
I´ve posted a considerable amount of new information about that specific Brazilian meme. What´s next now, so that it can be certified as an original meme?
Thank you in advance for your attention!

“How impolite” would be a better translation to “Que deselegante”.
Have a look at the description of the origin of this meme over my profile. The description posted in here is not very clear, in my opinion.
