Mostly, we try to only cover memes that spread primarily because of the internet. Video game catchphrases (along with film and TV quotes) usually spread in more of a top-down fashion through other media rather than a person-to-person spread. But if a quote has been reworked into a new joke, or otherwise recontextualized to bring new meaning that wasn’t intended by the original author, then we can clearly say that it’s a meme that was born because of the internet.

But this criteria is always shifting, and I agree that it’s kind of annoying.

We’ve got a FAQ that’s been in development for a couple of months, but we have yet to implement it on the site. I’d love to hear your feedback. Feel free to contribute to it, or even post questions within it, since it’s still a work in progress.

Honestly, I’d love to see you share your feedback on here more often. Our most vocal users tend to be pretty young, and you’ve been working in this arena longer than most of them have been alive! ;)

Anyway, I’m a fan of what you do, and I’m looking forward to seeing you at ROFLcon.

Take it easy.

Hi. If you are the same Jason Scott as that bearded man in those conference videos, saying funny but accurate stuff about things I can’t entirely comprehend (English isn’t my native language but I keep working on it), then I salute you.
Please enjoy your stay.

I knew both that name and that cat looked familiar!

Good to have you here!
