Commented on Cracky Chan

Oh yea, I’ve seen her picks floating around. There are a lot of chans that aren’t on KYM yet.

I have trouble believing this to be a direct result of Portal. I remember seeing forms of this game on B back in my early days there. There has been get from point a to point b threads before methinks. With walls or obstacles and such. Unfortunately I have no proof besides my eye witness testimony. :P

Commented on Chiptunes

You could say the evolution was in how it was done. at first it was programed line by line with 001 00E and stuff like that. Then Nanoloop and Littlesound DJ came out around 98 or so, they were game cartridges you plugged into your Gameboy and it let you program the sounds like a sequencer. Now adays you can downloat VSTi for Fruity Loops or Reason (or whatever you use) to program Chiptunes.

Also the genre morphed and you don’t really have the different styles that came from it. theres Nintendocore, which is like metalcore with chiptunes. There is break beat chiptunes, and theres even some ambient stuff.

one of the more importand sites that helped shape this was
http://www.8bitpeoples.com/

then later myspace music pages and youtube and such.

I have a sinking feeling this happened recently BECAUSE of the pikachu article on KYM. Cause it was not widely known where the pikachu picture came from before that article. Kind of strange it would happen now from an image by the same before not really known user. Doesn’t mean it’s forced but perhaps the cause.

Excelent article. Extremely cheesy source, I would have laughed so hard if that guy shot her at the end though.

Commented on Dramatic Reading

Interesting that the term was coined in 1967 but Peter Sellers had already done a dramatic reading of the Beatles “A hard days night” in 1965. Waaaay ahead of his time.

possibly one of the earliest examples of it being used in this way.

Peter Sellers is awesome.

Commented on My Immortal / The Worst Fanfiction Ever

Haha, this is one that I’ve heard used in real life. Rather obscure though. “Big bobs and everything”

Here is my favorite chapter and reading. The girl with the accent sucks. This guy is a lot better at reading it.

I can’t help but think the whole thing is an elaborate troll though.

As a guitarist this meme bugs me, because you constantly get people wanting to show it to you on Youtube. “Have you seen this video?”. That being said, it’s played well, not sure why it’s so huge but it definitely is huge.
