I have actually been on several forums, and in a meme sense it could go like this.
Person enters forum, heavy conversation/argument going on. Has no idea what is going on, posts:
“AAAH! LAG! wtf is going on someone please tell me!!!”
so lag in meme sense means that someone has missed somthing and has threfore no idea what is going on.
