Yes, I agree, the Episode was fantastic, except the one thing.
The entire episode feels OFF.

Like it’s out of place, almost as if they aired the wrong episode at the wrong time.

This episode the way it’s handled the way it ends, it’s not a regular Season ender, it’s a Series ender.

It has all of the tropes for a Grand Finale, but we know there’s a Season 4….

and apparently there’s a Trope for this, Series Fauxnale.

For Twilight to no longer become an Alicorn, she would have to create a new spell….but doing so would make her an Alicorn……

It’s a never ending cycle!

It makes so much sense it hurts, As Soon as Twilight ascended and was talking to Celestia It felt like I wasn’t watching a Season 3 finale at all, I was watching the Series Finale!

Season 1 ended like a normal episode.
Season 2 ended like a Movie Special.
Season 3? ended like it was THE END.

Would not be surprised if Season 4 stars a new group.

Episode 1 Season 4 will start way before the Season 3 finale showing only days before Twilight becomes an Alicorn.

I see Twilight ascend and was expecting Faust’s OC.
Also this scene makes everything SO FINAL.

Probably the original Element bearers, but Starswirl wasn’t nearly as passionate about friendship as Twilight was.

These were the original elements of Harmony.
Starswirl messed up and caused all of his “colleagues” to turn into something different.

Starswirl spent the last of his days trying to fix his mistake, but was only able to get Luna and Celestia back to normal and was able to pass the elements on to them.

Luna and Celestia were then given the task to seal away their “friends”. Discord was turned to stone and Sombra was sealed away, Crysilis was no where to be found and then finally Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, proving that Starswirl’s spell for her failed. Celestia then used the elements to seal her sister away and was then disconnected with the elements because the Harmony was no longer there.

Celestia had no knowledge nor the power to continue Starswirl’s work so she was forced to wait until a true successor came up, in order for her to do this, she accepted every and any “gifted” unicorn that crossed her path, searching for the one with Starswirl’s ‘spark’.
