Sorry about replying so late, but I’ve been out and about watching threads on the forums, and didn’t even check my wall until just now.

It appears as though the Pony thread is currently on its way out the door, as evidenced by the lack of a definite topic at the moment (through my eyes), just like you described. From the lurking that I’ve done within the last week, I’m going to deduce that “Twilight Sparkle and the Deathly Hasbro” will be the next thread title? If this is the case, it is perfectly alright with me, because I don’t have any preference, like I believe I may have said earlier.

I think I might as well more, so that it doesn’t appear that I’m not around, because I am around. Right now, the Pony thread is the one that catches my interest the most, so I’ve been hanging around there especially recently.

Well, it’s certainly good to know that we’re getting somewhere in determining the name (I think…), and although there’s not much I can do to help (I’m not voting, because I have no preference for the thread name), I’d still be glad to try should the need come up.

Is the average length that a Pony General Discussion thread around here lasts for about 8 months to a year? Obviously, filling up 200 pages with pony-related posts (and posts that lean more towards “off-topic” than anything else) doesn’t go by terribly quickly.

(This question isn’t related to anything, really; I’m just curious.)

I’ll be seeing this thread through to the end, which I’m happy about, though it isn’t as impressive because I made my first post in it when there were only 13 pages to go. The feeling is still there.

Thank you for following me, Verbose, and in return, I’ll add you to my friends list.

I haven’t been terribly busy nowadays; just managing my various projects and the like, as well as keeping on top of my studies. However, I’ve been travelling for the last few days (with Passover on top of that), I haven’t had much time to go online like I usually do. Hopefully, though, I should be able to be a little bit more active now.

On something of an unrelated note, I see that the current Pony General Discussion thread is making its last rounds and was wondering how the poll to determine the method for determining the new thread’s title is going. (Maybe I haven’t been lurking/paying enough attention, but if that did come up, I missed it, and for that I apologize, because the thread is too huge for me to go back and look properly.)

I would later go on to learn that “avant-garde” meant “cutting-edge” more than it meant “bad,” but I don’t listen to a whole lot of “avant-garde” music anyway, so I still like to make that joke when the opportunity comes up.

I’m keeping job opportunities and prospects in mind as well, but at the moment I’m leaning towards “follow your heart” when it comes to picking a major, and I was actually considering double-majoring on and off for a few months (and I still am). At least I still have some time to choose a major before I graduate.

I do appreciate that you would take some time to talk to me, by the way. I’ve never been a “look at me” kind of guy, but it does make me feel welcomed.

I’m going on a trip today, so I won’t be able to respond until late this evening, or possibly tomorrow. Just a heads-up.

My parents were both majors in economics, but I just can’t see myself doing that, because I don’t spend a whole lot of money and can’t imagine myself pursuing a career as an accountant or anything like that. There are just other things that interest me more that I’ll likely go after by the time that I graduate. (Actually, my dad was a double-major in economics and linguistics. Very smart guy.)

Although I’m not much of an outgoing person, in real life or online, I might have to engage people like opspe in conversation in the future, if their interests are similar to mine. I guess that even though I don’t talk to people online very often, I enjoy it when I do, like in this case.

I’ve only seen the one song you currently have on your profile, and I guess that I like avant-garde jazz and the like (although I once heard that “avant-garde” was French for “bad.” Seriously. I laughed). However, I also do enjoy chiptunes because of the overwhelming nostalgia value that chiptune tunes (that looks really awkward, rereading it) have with me.

I’m not much of a brony myself, which is to say that although I watch the show often, I don’t look at a whole lot of fanart outside of Derpibooru, I check Equestria Daily and Derpy Hooves News a lot, but nothing there particularly catches my interest unless related to the show itself (I’m sorry, but I can’t be forced to care very much about the new release of a popular fanfiction author or an Everfree Radio interview with a brony musician that I’d never heard of until seeing the link), I’m not incredibly active in any pony-related Internet community, I don’t go to conventions or brony meetups. But I still don the “brony” label, because it would be inaccurate to say that I’m not a brony. As a matter of fact, I never talk about the show with anybody, brony or not, because although I’m not really a “closet brony” (I wouldn’t make much of an effort to hide the fact that I like the show and don’t have qualms with the fandom should the topic come up), I’m not an active “public brony” either, unlike some of the people attending my school. I leave the pony talk/fandom spreading stuff to them.

Oh, and as for my major, I’m still pretty unsure, but I think I’ve got it narrowed down to linguistics, sociology and mathematics.
I don’t know any of the other mods (well, that’s not entirely true, a fellow named RandomMan responded to me in the Pony General thread (link)), but if I ever come into contact with one, I’ll make sure to spout all the jargon I know. Maybe Mod-Senpai ピースメーカー will notice me…

Thank you, and I guess that I probably will put some time into the forums, because now that I have an account, I don’t see very much sense in leaving it to gather dust (although I seldom used it for the first two weeks or so that it existed). I don’t need attention, but it’s nice to know that I’m appreciated.

On the same note, having had the time to look through a few of the posts that you’ve made around here, I definitely respect you already, not only because of your moderator status, but because you seem to have an excellent grasp of sociological ideas and psychology in general.

Furthermore, I can appreciate your taste in music.

Jewish, yes, mycologist, sort of. It’s not what I will likely major in, but I find it interesting nonetheless.

Also, I’ve only read one forum post of yours, but from the looks of it, you deserve your username.
