I have an older sibling with autism. He’s 24 years old and is moderate on the spectrum. I’m his younger sister, by three years. I plan on taking care of him when my parents can’t anymore or when I’m financially stable later. We live in a very rural area in the south of the US.
Growing up with a sibling on the spectrum is, well, different. I feel more like a mother than a sister to him most of the time, but gotta love your siblings. Lots of cherished memories but you definitely get pushed back and ignored a lot because so much energy is focused on the other sibling.
Ironically enough I was bullied for about ten years by a more severely autistic girl when I was a kid. My brother was nothing like her growing up, literally her polar opposite, and our family situations were similar except she was an only child. She had gotten so aggressive she was eventually homeschooled.
Met up with her again in college, lived in the same dorm with her and went to the same classes. Still a bully, and struggled with her when I was paired up with her in some classes. I’ve never met anyone like her but I try my hardest to understand and sympathize with her, but sometimes there is no excuse for her actions because I know her so well by now and I truly believe she can distinguish from right and wrong.
I know some of you guys could probably care less about my story but I just wanted to just write it out I guess. I usually just lurk on kym but nope, not tonight.
Somebody needs to write an SCP article based on the cartridge. Like right the fuck now.
COMMENCE STARING CONTEST!
The artist’s name is Stephen Gammell. He illustrated the controversial “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” series. I am ashamed to admit that I am still to this day very sensitive to the imagery that was in those books. It has followed me to this day. I read those books around 4th grade too, but once I saw the images, I took the books home the day I got them and never brought them back. I had to have my parents throw them away.
This drawing is a mild one compared to the others.
Do not google image search Stephen Gammell if you ever want to sleep a peaceful night ever again
Any image you see in this gallery that’s done in this style it is 99.99% likely that it’s his work.
He is one hell of an artist.
I have to be honest here. I used to be a really big fan. Used to. I very rarely watch his videos now, because I’m really, really tired of his humor. It was funny for the first 50 videos I saw, now, I can’t stand another joke. I sometimes watch if he’s playing a game I’m interested in, but I usually can’t finish it because I want to see the story and content of the game, and he obviously doesn’t deliver this.
If you like his humor, that’s okay. If you hate this guy, that’s okay too. I understand both sides. I honestly don’t think this guy is a bad person, he’s probably made some bad moves, but he’s still successful. I do think many other let’s players deserve his position, though, like others have point out. But it is what it is. He’s successful on the internet and has been a major source of influence.
Black Slaves. You know what that calls for.
Oh god. When I was twelve i let one of my stupid girl friends play my pokemon silver… told her not to start a new save or anything, and that was the first thing she did. it’s just one of those things you never forgive, and im 19.
So only hipsters can see slenderman?
Slenderman. Final boss of the internet.
