Some things I like:
4) Lengthy discussion
5) Pokemon from Heartgold and back (I’m not caught up on the current generation).
Feel free to ask about any of those things. Or other things; it’s all good.
What I’m currently listening to:
>mfw I hear about the deposition video AGAIN
Huh. Well good on him for getting through it. Not being able to talk would suck a LOT. I’m swollen and miserable, but sounds like he might have gotten it a little worse if he couldn’t talk.
Oh? How’d your boyfriend fare? How many did he have to get removed? It sucks but at least it has forced me to rest for a while. If you don’t mind me asking, was there some complication that made your boyfriend’s surgery particularly unpleasant?
ATV is easily my new favorite team member. In other news, it looks like the game will be done either tomorrow or Sunday.
HOLY FREAKING CRAP THEY BEAT GIOVANNI IN THE MOST SPECTACULAR FASHION
Requests: I have a very testing academic week ahead of me. I have a research paper due tomorrow afternoon that’s kicking my butt as we speak. I’m working on it in another tab. I also have a midterm tomorrow I have had little time to prepare for and I have another paper due Wednesday. Further I met ANOTHER girl I could possibly develop feelings for. She’s not a Christian, though, and makes a lot of decisions that make me sorrowful for her. Pray for me to keep my motives pure but continue talking to her about Jesus.
I think I’ve mentioned my brother before, who has some disabilities. He’s not crippled but he has some problems he’s going to cognitive therapy for, so please pray for him.
Leviticus 25:23 is one of my new favorite passages. It reads “…the land shall not be sold to be cut off from the family: for the land is mine, and ye be but strangers and sojourners with Me.” Now, why do I like that passage so much? God has purposefully identified with His people for the first time in Leviticus. Leviticus is a hard, hard book to reconcile and make sense of. It’s a book full of hard rules and harsh punishments, but Leviticus 25 is a little different. Yes, it’s still a book of regulations for the ancient Hebrews, but the 25th chapter details how mercy must be institutionalized into this society. How God doesn’t just not tolerate sin, He doesn’t tolerate an absence of good. And at this verse, God tells us something else about Himself and His pretty extraordinary mercy: He chooses a point of solidarity with His own. God tells us He is not of this world, He only acts in it. In the same way, we are not at home here, for as He tells us, we “are strangers and sojourners”- but here’s the important part- “with Me.” God chooses Israel and by extension us as having the privilege of being a traveler with God himself. Remember glorification, Yi. We will see God someday, and our journey’s done. The dark’s just a passing thing. We’re on the road home.
Also, there’s this, previously posted in the subreddit:
Looks like Destiny may have gotten a little help.
Easily one of my favorite anime ever made. Heck, easily one of the best anime ever MADE. Glad to see it get an entry.
Alas BigDig, we knew thee well. You shall join Abby, Jay Leno, and all the others in halls of glory.
On a serious note, it’s interesting to me how everyone (myself definitely included) is getting really defensive about the integrity (or lack thereof) of the stream. Even the anarchy loving trolls are not happy about the Destiny invasion. Maybe it’s because the raiders are ruining the fun for everyone by removing the REAL chaos and instituting game-breaking or highly destructive releases within Democracy.
Or maybe it’s just ours and no one else is allowed to touch.
We’re gonna toss that freaking master ball I guarantee
WELCOME TO THE MADNESS AIR!
Is anyone else seeing a game that isn’t functioning right now? Is it just me or is something wrong here?
HOLY FREAKING CRAP, THEY DID IT. THEY HAVE ACHIEVED THE IMPOSSIBLE
THEY GOT THE LIFT KEY
The anarchy/democracy system is an interesting change, but I’m sad to see the complete and utter chaos not ruling as strongly as it once did. So many people are taking the time voting for one mode or the other that a LOT less commands seem to be inputted, leading to red just standing around and not acting like the moron we’ve all come to know and love in this stream.
I freaking love the internet sometimes.
>mfw singles awareness day
You got it man.
Also: I totally have more members in my Bible study now! Your prayers are appreciated, sir. One other correction: I definitely do not have a new girlfriend. I wish I did, but I don’t Heh. So you may want to remove that from the prayer request list. I appreciate the prayers as always, but I just don’t have a gf, unfortunately. And you can consider yourself prayed for by me as well.
Requests: school, I have my first wave of exams coming up. Also I have a friend of mine that I have learned is romantically attracted to me and I don’t reciprocate her feelings. I need to handle this in a delicate and God-honoring way. I know it sucks for her; I dealt with this same freaking problem until recently! I really feel for her, but I don’t think there’s much directly I can do to help her.
“God opposes the proud”…that’s sort of an interesting statement, isn’t it? I think we all squirm in our seats a little when we think of God opposing anyone, really. It’s offensive to think of God as being actively against a human being. Here’s the thing, though, I think: God opposes the proud so that pride will fall. And for those He has called, the pride of a sinful life is made into true humility. Pride is broken down in the nonbeliever and changed to humility at conversion. Solomon is right: God gives grace to the humble. Grace that covers all our sin from the cistern that is never depleted. God’s grace: so full and so rich that none is lost when it is poured out. None goes to waste even as our cup overflows. God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. He is a giver of absolute good, no matter if He is breaking down or building up. And we have to trust him in patience. Our trust in Him: that He knows what He’s doing even when it hurts- it’s one of the hallmarks of a Christian and one of the things we’ll struggle with for a long, long time. We have to trust Him even when He’s actively and painfully breaking down that which needs to be destroyed: our sins, our pride, and all our flaws. And we have to be patient in His work.
