I don’t think the person who wrote that actually stole the mirror
It’s a riff of a famous quote, calm down.
God KYM is easily offended.
Yeah some people are a little lost in their own problems.
Try to worry less about their sniping.
Yes but that’s why nobody leaves the turtle cities
Ah that’s a bit much, we were all 12-15 once.
That said everyone in that age bracket is generally embarrassing.
Indeed. They weren’t special enough so they steal the rhetoric that surrounds actual minority issues, the purest example of the type of person who wants to be the righteously aggrieved victim.
That whole deal. In some academic contexts racism refers to a contest of oppressive (powerful/dominant) and oppressed (lacking power) cultures, rather than the more common usage of harbouring prejudices based on appearance.
So then bloody undergrads who took one class go around blithering about the impossibility of racism towards white people without making that distinction.
Cool story: I went to see the creators of Cards Against Humanity when they came to PAX Australia, they talked about this exact thing, about how their incredibly offensive humour was in fact carefully crafted along the kind of lines these tumblr users are talking about.
They talked about their humour “not punching down” and how something wasn’t funny if it hurt someone who didn’t deserve it, which is why they had taken out a particular card about a disability.
And I’ve yet to meet a single “sjw” who doesn’t like CaH, you see because they’re actually good comedians they can make good offensive humour (and I mean hanging out with the Greens party, friends in the Socialist parties, feminist activists and huge tumblr nerds that I know IRL all love it).
The point being, if you’re not a total hack like the New Yorker cartoonist, it’s not at all hard to make provocative or offensive things that don’t “punch down” and still actually be funny.
Yeah and that’s also stupid.
NOT IN AUSTRALIA IT’S NOT!
(UNLESS YOU MEAN CELSIUS AND COVER UP FROM THE ETERNAL PAIN OF THE SUN)
So crappy writing is crappy writing is what you’re saying?
Okay I’ll bite, how does public school fuck with foreigners?
Fucking with foreigners is a national pastime, even the government warns foreigners about “drop bears”.
Australia doesn’t take itself very seriously
As I understand it many of the names are bastardizations of Aboriginal words to greater or lesser degrees into English, although Bargo is pure Aussie ocker drawl
Okay I’m pretty sure the first user is trolling based on that blog title
We have fun names for places here
There are only 2 rules to TV: Don’t swear and don’t whip it out. It’s not rocket science!
Yeah as long as you’re honest being a total monster is better than trying to be better and failing sometimes.
Of course that’s not actually true because 4chan does have a knights armor complex just as badly, they just pretend to be way worse than they really are so nobody can call them out when they aren’t doing good. It’s a compelling thing, to be the jerk with the heart of gold means you can’t be criticized because you’re either “doing what 4chan do” or “something righteous for a change”.
That’s the real fun of the board.
The SFW lock is on by default when browsing tags.
Methinks someone has unlocked it.
But remember the constant racism, antisemitism, advocacy of suicide, advocacy of rape, fascism, anarcho-capitalist radicals, sexism, gore porn and more stuff that is “that bad” on 4chan is fine.
Get off your high horse mate.
YOU FORGOT THE PORN
Okay seriously are taxes that hard to do in America? Is it the whole having too many states thing? In Aussie world it’s self explanatory on the online form and only the feds are able to levy income taxes and you can get a “standard deduction” (which gives you a fixed amount as a tax refund) if you CBF to figure out deductions (which is usually only worth doing if you’re rich and can afford a tax attorney or tax accountant anyway)
No it needs to be shorter than the original!
It is fun to ride in sleighs
It’s about the same as enforcement on Twitter or FB.
That is to say sections like this are not prioritized for enforcement.
