Finally, there was nothin’ we didn’t know. The story was too simple, “Twi screws everythin’ up, fixes it, becomes an Alicorn”. I expected more, I wanted some Discord, some history, some Starswirl, some lore. Instead, I got 10 minutes of singin’…

Still, there were some things I liked. All the nods to the fanbase, the gags with Pinkie or animals wantin’ to eat Dash made me grin, however, it doesn’t make the episode any special. I liked how they showed the role of Pinkie in the society, right when I thought she’s useless. Also, they made “Alicorn” canon, and, best of all, there were still some mentions on Starswirl. It’s some clue on the Discord = Starswirl. He didn’t finish the spell, ‘cause he didn’t understand friendship, just as Discord never had any friends. It’s the failin’ with this spell what could turn him into this chaotic abomination…

Generally, there was some good stuff, but all was overridden by everythin’ I hated.

Well, that’s a lot to say… I never truly disliked any episode, there are only those which I liked and those which “are not among those which I liked”. This new ep falls to the second type, but considerin’ that among my favs are Mare-do-well or Spike at your service, I wouldn’t say that my tastes are really somethin’ that matters.
First of all, as a person without any friends IRL, I hate this whole friendship bullshit, especially as it is shown in the show. Pagh, even Warcraft and, aye, Gothic show better examples of friendship than the show. “Why do you watch the show, then?” you say? Well, the friendship was always a backstory, while the main was, for example, chaos and carnage caused by Discord. Here, however, this friendshit was all the story the episode had.
Second, it was fuckin’ short. It was only 10-15 minutes long episode, with songs as the filler of the rest. I don’t like songs in MLP, ‘cause they are only stealin’ time, and there is no way it’ll hit my musical taste anyway (Flushy’s trainin’ was closest, but it didn’t have words). The third one was the worst, it was sad to hear. Not ’cause the song was sad, but ’cause it was almost the same shit we are fed by the so-called “pop artists” in the media, the type of music that especially makes my brain rot.

Turns out that despite the flowing vitriol, liquid butthurt, and crying, most people thought the episode was pretty good. Yeah, it was a bit rushed, but that was expected. Celestial sang (beautifully), Twi got some extra appendages, Luna smiled, alicorn became canon, and Derpy showed up.

In short: Everything turned out okay.

Remember though, the game was made in 2002, the engine is even older, so you can safely expect it’ll be quite rocky (it doesn’t even give any in-game tutorial or somethin’, you gotta learn everythin’ yourself).
Also, just ‘cause I love it doesn’t mean you will, my tastes are often quite scrambled.
I don’t know how the German/English version is, I played only Polish, and honestly, it was the only Polish-dubbed game I’ve embraced.
