Commented on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
So, uh, I did a bunch of digging and found the original /co/ threads on the show. You guys might want to revise your origin section, because /co/ was already deeply in the throes of pony fever by the time the Cartoon Brew article came out.
I’ve laid it all out here: http://mlponies.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1138
@Aethelbert It’s a partial week effect, happens all the time.

So, uh, it’s pretty much official that Hasbro wants the episodes off Youtube and has been behind most of the takedowns other than a few recent ones targeting PMV channels. (http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/01/clarification-on-youtube-stream.html#more)
While I personally think this is an incredibly shortsighted decision on their part as it will halt the growth of the fanbase in the US and wreck it internationally (since there’s no legal way to access the episodes outside the US), the embeds on this page should probably be replaced by links to the Hub website and iTunes.

The S1E1 embed is broken again. The preview image is still showing but the user changed the video to private during the most recent wave of takedowns.

@YoshiMan That spike is a partial week effect; search counts are always higher on the weekends.

@Edward Urhara Fan activity, whether you look at Google searches or EqD hits, has basically plateaued since S2 began. I don’t know why this would lead to a “war,” because the show isn’t going to singlehandedly save Western civilization or something. It’s a fun show with a few nice new ideas and culturally progressive elements and great supporting internet media that will inevitably receive periodic trolling in various forums. Less MLP presence = less trolls, and hopefully less kids too.

Confirm, never heard of this but very nice job on the entry and lots of examples.

Just want to point out that both the S1E1 and S2E1 clips have been taken down by a troll and should probably be replaced.

Awesome job on this page! I just want to point out that Lily’s “The Horror” is duplicated in the videos section.

@Slapperfish
Quit injecting partisan politics into this situation; left, right, and middle across the internet are united in opposing this bill. Its chief sponsor is Republican, while many of the more than 20 cosponsors are Democrats. It’s picked up opposition from Pelosi and lots of Democrats as well as Republicans like Ron Paul and Issa. Obama has not commented on this bill as far as I am aware.
Things this obviously disastrous and idiotic tend to cut across party lines in a hurry.

Confirm, excellent entry. I’ll go see if I can dig up some images for the pile.
We’ve had a lot of terrible entries in the past couple of weeks where the authors put up maybe a paragraph that’s barely recognizable as English and no examples and then complained when they got hate. To those people: this is how it’s done.
Ticky-tack typo: sentence 2 should read “captions” not “capations.”

FiM hasn’t affected everything everywhere, but it has no bearing on the argument he was trying to make. The argument is over single-site memes and whether there are special considerations surrounding things like DeviantArt and FiM is about as far away from a single-site meme as you can get. That’s all I’m saying.

If this is a meme, “Yes We Can” is also a meme.
Exactly how are these boundaries being drawn anyway?

@Christopher: Ok, now that I looked more closely, I understand that this page is supposed to show an artist’s work at four specific time points in their lives, while the one you run covers an artist’s character at four successive ages. This page at present is incredibly confusingly written and completely devoid of examples, so I don’t exactly blame myself.
Page needs to be completely rewritten, examples uploaded, possible merge with existing deviantart page explored in some kind of subculture/submeme format. And 7 of the 8 related entries are not related in any way shape or form.
Also, FiM doesn’t relate to the discussion. It hit a ton of communities from 4chan to DA to tumblr to reddit to virtually every anime, video game, and general nerd forum incredibly hard and is the largest thing on this site by virtually every metric.

About a quarter of these are completely awesome, which is a pretty good ratio for the internet. Nice meme I never would have seen if not for this site.

I think we’re gonna need to send in Hulk Hogan to stop this one.

About a dozen years after I stopped caring, unfortunately. South Park and Futurama have had much of the juice when it comes to animated comedy for the last decade. I hear the new season is better but I’ve heard that almost every season.

+1 Wait. I’ve added a few images posted by someone else on a forum. “Tom” in general should be either an MLP submeme or an entry in the character fandom submeme a few months down the road depending on the amount of fan material generated by then.
