IRL meme.
Like you admitted, impressions have been around WAAAAAY before the internet, and the internet is only a vehicle for impressions (also takes place in movies, games, stand-up, etc.).
Impressions also surely occurred before the 70s. Probably since ancient times.

Well, it DOES have image derivatives, notability on Dramatica, infamy among discussors/fans, and a few videos on it-

but not enough…

would have to be memes.

Although these things have been discussed to death, its not a meme.
