In defense of the forums, we’ve only had a few full-out shitstorms. We’ve had flame wars, yes, and unnecessary arguments spanning a thread, but rarely to this extent. And this one wasn’t actually that bad (it happened pretty late at night with relatively few users). What makes this one more complicated is its implications. Anyway, hopefully these flame wars won’t occur as often in the future because a lot happening lately (not just yesterday), and should be addressed…

At this point, you are trolling and are picking really really unnecessary fights. Some of your posts were not even related to the thread, and were for the sole purpose of arguing and perhaps derailing the thread. It’s like you are trying to argue when people are ignoring you. There was some confusion about this, and I (wrongly) thought that Garlic was testing the moderators. It turns out he was testing “potential moderators,” not existing ones. And I agree with this: @Chris I know why you did what you did but your execution was wrong. He was presumably upset at users chasing out new users and being obstinate about what constitutes a meme. I didn’t say you can get banned for retaliating. Also, in the example you were using, you posted on his wall, which was okay (except for the autoplays). I was mainly talking about the forums, and I really don’t think derailing threads by getting angry at users is really the best option. Obviously, if you argue with users for (somewhat) good reasons and don’t do it in every single thread, it definitely doesn’t deserve a ban. @Mellow I definitely think that users should be proactive about telling moderators about problems, and that they should try to ignore trolls, but goddamn. Moved to site-related. Here is what happened today, from my perspective. Someone texted me about stuff going down in the forums. I come and immediately, I see this thread. It was Garlic Mcnabb (posting under the name “Fennel Reynolds”) basically bumping the thread over and over again. Hey lets insult users and derail threads. Because I’m disappointed with the KYM forums, I’m going to make tons of annoying, unoriginal “X ways to Y” threads over and over again. Clearly, because I am better in comparison to someone who is stirring up flame wars, this is a good idea. Also, because the only mod that is online is generally patient, that mod’s patience isn’t starting to run out.

Because on a day with krama whroring, bumping, spamming, remade threads, mods aren’t generally ecstatic when someone comes in and makes posts for the purpose of stirring up flame wars. I’m trying to evaluate everyone’s role in this crappy evening, and you just happened to be the first to be banned because you posted a lot and fit qualifications for banning. Sorry about that.

This is a terrible thread and has derailed from its original purpose ie lets insult each other
