Doesn’t forum roleplay generally have the goal of collaborating on creating a story of sorts? It’s like what you do with your boss, except that your boss might be a spaceman dragon fighter. So it would be more like LARPing, but online. “Sockpuppeting” sounds like an attempt to maniuplate conversation by deceiving other particpants into believing you’re somebody else.
