I wish we used some foreign words in place of our normal nice English ones. “Schmetterling” is a far better word for “butterfly.” “Kummerspeck” is another good one. WHY AM I NOT GERMAN? And a more poetic one: Mamihlapinatapai, “This word captures that special look shared between two people, when both are wishing that the other would do something that they both want, but neither want to do.” Siiiigh.
