About

I listen to music. A lot of music.
I do chemistry. Slightly less frequently than I listen to music.
I slack on KYM. When I’m not doing chemistry.

I don’t know if GarageBand has automation tracks, but that would be the way to do make the volume increase on the ticking track. If you want, you should look around online for an explosion sound, there’s gotta be one out there.

I like the direction, especially the melody. I would make the ticking effect slowly increase in volume instead of just starting, and I might add an explosion at the end or something just for effect though. Good work.

To everyone who’s saying this entry has too much Spongebob: I would like to remind you that this meme is largely Spongebob-based – read under Origin and Spread for more info. You’re also welcome to add other images, if you have them.

With regards to new members creating, er, sub-par memes, please consider this. I think it would be an inoffensive but reasonably effective method to resolve the issue.

In response to arc.reactor’s comments: I like the two-step confirmation idea, although it would mean more work for the entry mods. However, I dislike the restrictions on new members creating memes, because, although it would be effective, I feel that it would discourage people from adding legitimate entries.

I don’t know off hand, I would look for a Twilight-only or -heavy scene, maybe in the first episode before she meets the rest.

In high school, I read the book The Sound and the Fury, by William Faulkner. In it, it follows the internal narrative of one of the characters as he descends into madness. To express this, the writing progressively loses all convention as it goes along (it stops using punctuation and capitals and sentences etc). To me, this really did a good job of showing how the character lost his grip on reality, and I think it’s a good starting point for a similar song about Twilight.

So my vision for a song (vision?) would be to start the song out in a nice, cheery, Twilight-y melody, and slowly start throwing in some off-key and/or off-beat notes, and have it build up to a point where the melody and rhythm are completely assonant and atonal. I would recommend using a piano or some other instrument with a wide note range to pull this off.

I think you could do a really good job of this if you focus on getting a good melody for the “sane” part. And it’s critical that you don’t rush the insanity – make it something like this:

It’ll take some craft to get it to sound good, but I know you can do it if you really work at it.

Well, we appear to have reached a new low in the endeavour that is human communication. I used “yes” as an interjection to describe my appreciation for the image, and my hope that you would share in that appreciation. I hope that clears it up…

If you want to add me to the Circle Team picture, here’s what you should use as a basis:

Thanks man.

I see that. I expect Random or some of the other ops will add something once the competition starts. Also, your steam profile: last online 48 days ago? Tsk.

I’ll add you once I get Steam installed on my temporary computer, but I won’t be able to play anything since it’s so slow. Steam chat it is! hehe

Anecdote time. I’m currently using a Mac Pro at work, and it just fucking BSOD-ed on me.

I don’t get it. I’ve been dealing with trying to ship a computer to Canada for the past several hours so I have no thinking power.

I can’t right now due to computer problems. If you’re looking to add more people, see this thread, a couple of us posted in there.
