You should know I don’t actually hate you, despite what I may have posted. Just to be clear.

And in a twist of irony, the more you reveal about yourself, the more similar you sound to this friend of mine. You have very similar interests, music tastes, love of (over)analyzing society, body type… It’s actually kind of creeping me out.

Although he is from Zambia and not from GA, so there’s that, but still…

Yeah I’ve heard of that. I’m not a huge Skrillex fan (actually the only song that I really like is Still Getting It), and I was none too thrilled that he was collabing with The Doors. BUT, then I saw DJ Premier. That got me excited, and his song was pretty damn good. I’m as big a hip-hop fan as I am a Daft Punk fan, but both are eclipsed by my love of DnB. But that’s another story.

I refer you to my previous post: it’s not about what I want.

My idea was to have two movements; the first one would be dark (minor key), and the second one would be light, in the same key as the first movement, just major (not minor). I think they should both have similar melodies, so that they stay connected to the listener. And remember to keep some variation in the melody.

What do I want? This isn’t about what I want. You shouldn’t be making music to please other people, you should make it because you want to express yourself.

That being said, you do want to make music people like listening to. So you can’t have the same notes repeating over and over, because frankly that’s boring, so you need to have some type of melody. Your music should express a story. I’m not sure how else I can describe it.
