About

I listen to music. A lot of music.
I do chemistry. Slightly less frequently than I listen to music.
I slack on KYM. When I’m not doing chemistry.

I did notice that Pendulum made changes to their own style as their albums progress. Immersion had music that sounded more like pop compared to their older stuff.

I didn’t let that bother me too much. I just stuck with their older music, but I can see how that can draw plenty of disappointment.

If Pendulum killed D&B then a lot of artists missed the memo, I don’t see anyone stopping on behalf of them.

Holy crap that drop is insane on that thing.

Pendulum is another one of my favorites. That may sound strange because their style is very different from all the other stuff I have but I guess there’s still some things I don’t yet know about my own music tastes.

Fun Fact: My friend (Know what? I mention her so much I’ll use her actual name: Rachel) tried to tell me that Pendulum makes dubstep.

I told her they have made dubstep before but they are mainly a D&B producer. Then Rachel got shitty at me and refused to believe a word I said. She actually got jealous that for once, I knew something about music that she didn’t :D

“I think you’ve been more influenced by that metalhead friend of yours than you think.”

That’s a logical assessment, given the years I’ve spent with her. All that exposure has left me with a level of respect for Metal, even if I generally don’t listen to it.

The Heavier, Harder and Darker styles of D&B must appeal to that respect. Strangely enough, I like intense D&B but not intense Trance. I like Trance that is calm and mellow.

Also I noticed that you deleted that post. I only know it exists because it was E-mailed to me

Ah, if you can still type properly it just means you need to drink more :D

I know I have reached optimal drunk when my keyboard is blurry, I make errors in every word but I don’t care about fixing them and I think my post, no matter how lame, is hilarious.

Don’t forget to down some water before you go to bed, always good for hangover prevention ;)

Well my hangover wasn’t so bad actually. It was only Vodka and Bourbon after all. Takes something more like Wine to really induce a serious hangover

Now Therapy…that was…pretty damn good. You are getting better at finding stuff I can really get into.

I listened to a huge range of stuff at last nights party. People brought just about one of every genre. Someone even put Justin Beiber on.

Sadly noone played any D&B (so underknown here) but I at least found one dude who knows, BSE, SOM and Noisia. I was drunkenly ecstatic when I found that out

I’m glad you think so! I thought it was rather nice myself.

Actually, that makes perfect sense. I told you, I got quite a bit out of the course. I find that very interesting, I wish I could have an excuse to aim lasers at random objects… Do go on, if you wish.

Well, my experiences are actually limited to the High School course I took, but my instructor was very hands on. I got a lot out of the course, but honestly, this at this point I’m just glad I could understand what it was you were talking about. :P Except for “Raman”. Spectroscopy, yes, but Raman, no. What exactly does that entail?

‘Heavy’ is one thing, but I mainly like Disturbia because he can make haunting music. Like it belongs in a horror film (And I like Horrors). So far I have not found anyone else that does that. Although some of the stuff Telemetrik makes comes close

My favorites from him include Meet The Future, Koma and Cyanide. Perfect listening when playing FPS games

Do you have an account on soundcloud yourself?

Haha, yes, I would imagine so. I find that most interesting though, as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my own experience with the field. Are you involved in any particular subdisciplines (biochemistry, theoretical chemistry, etc.)?

Now when you say “doing chemistry”, are you referring to that activity in the professional sense or the recreational sense?

For a simple song, it has some good atmosphere and ambiance. I like.

Hey what do you know as far as Trancestep goes?

The only Trancestep I know of are the few tracks that Disturbia made when he wasn’t busy making D&B.

(NOTE: Disturbia – Sandstorm is NOT related to Darude – Sandstorm. The names are coincidental)

I’m looking for more stuff like that ATM

Hehe, putting you in the same room as my friend would have…interesting… results. She thinks Metal is the second greatest music in the world, with the first being her love for Glee pop music

Her Glee musicals drive me mad, my BSE sends her insane. I don’t know how we tolerate each other, but we do X^D

As far as Metal goes I think Disturbed is OK, I even went to one of their concerts with my mates. But stuff like Marylin and HIM is just plain depressing. Especially Korn….ESPECIALLY Korn

I’d like Metal much more if it never had lyrics. I like guitar riffs but not some assholes opinion on how cool/evil/hardcore they are, how many mothers they banged or how many problems they have

“I warned you. And please, listen to these in 720p. I can’t stress that enough.”

Come at be Bro! Also I was under the impression that 720p mainly affects video quality with only a minor influence on the sound data that comes through. I don’t notice a huge difference between 720p and 480p. Can you fill me on the details?

“It’s just that I’ve been a music fanatic for so many years, and so many of my friends are the same way, so it’s kinda inconceivable to me that someone else isn’t.”

You arent the only one who gets astonished at my bleak music history. My closest friend couldn’t believe it when she found out. Gave me Disturbed, Marylin Manson and HIM in her own attempts to change that.

I’m not sure really. That was before I took my nap, so I don’t know why I thought it made sense. But thanks for bringing that to my attention.

“Now, I’m assuming you’ve heard of Mat Zo within the Trance world (if not, then "LISTEN NOW":www.youtube.com/watch?v=6n5yr8J-FQU)”

Haven’t heard of him. I tend to miss the names of the Trance artists I listen to since most I come by so many different artists so randomly but HOOOOOLLLYYY SHIIIT that song! Its cool, calm, rhythmic, atmospheric, uplifting, moving, its got all the traits I look for in Trance!

I have to go listen to some Disturbia to counterbalance all that cool and mellow.

But yea assume I haven’t come across most of the good artists out there yet. Remember I spent most of my life being music oblivious until I discovered D&B

“Oh by the way, it was perhaps a mistake to let me know you’re a DnB fan, because I will be forever posting music here.”

ROFLMAO!

Nice find, Nymfo is a name I am starting to notice more. He did some join efforts with BSE too. I’m looking through some of his stuff now.

Lately I have also been looking for D&B remixes of popular trance. Like this one for example

Not sure how good it is as far as Sandstorm remixes go but I love how fast paced it is.

Thanks, champ. I appreciate the welcome. Makes me feel warn and fuzzy that just one person noticed my absence, its a whole other level of fuzziness when multiple people notice!

As far as trance goes, the best I can probably do is point you to the Trance channel I visit on Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/user/Spac3Trance?blend=1&ob=4

Spac3trance is a far bigger trance fan than I ever could be and usually his choices are pretty good. Most of the Trance I have comes from there

“So apparently I have just over 2000 DnB songs. Woo.”

Holy Terrabytes batman! Have you been collecting every D&B song released since the start of the decade?
