Guess who’s reading Ulysses and not understanding a lick of it? I just finished chapter one, plus I read a transcript of a judge that ruled to let Ulysses be published in the US and a letter from Joyce to the American publishers. Also:

It’s in Public Health. An MPH. My undergraduate degrees were in Psychology and Sociology, so my decision to enter public health was based on wanting to use my skills in the social sciences to help people. It’s probably not going to be my passion, but Public health allows for that (and has some really nice loan forgiveness opportunities here in the US.)

Ah, yes. I finished my Master’s in Decemeber. It feels unemployed-ey. And debtey. But I’m glad to be done. I can’t see myself pursuing a PhD right now, but maybe later. I’m a sucker for schooling.

I thought that the whole warning thing might be a little invasive, but I figure that most of the uploaders probably don’t visit the forum. I’ve spoken to a few uploaders about the guidelines, but I think it helps as a reminder. I really don’t want to ban anyone, so I’m trying to do all I can to prevent multiple offenses.

Merry Christmas, Platus! I’m in Baltimore for the holidays and there’s this restaurant called the James Joyce. S*** was co cash. Also, I recently noticed that my piano teacher has the book and one other by Joyce, so I may actually read it bit by bit each week. Exciting, no?
