Commented on Creepy White Guys

I read a sociology paper about how Asian women are probably one of the most stereotyped minorities. TV shows and especially advertisements always play them up as exotic, competitive, intelligent, and mysterious

That’s shits also not in the book. It’s told from the point if view of journals and Frankenstein didn’t want anyone to know how he made the creature. From the vague description, it’s sounds like he made the creature from scratch and by hand. It was still horribly ugly, but there was nothing inherently evil about its origin

Frankenstein was about people who were afraid of a creation of science because they were too ignorant to understand it and too irrational to learn

I swear if they put Snake in this game I will buy a Wii U. I want more dialogs with the Colonel about Nintendo characters. Or put Big Boss this game and dialogs with Paz. “Snake! They’re playing you like a damn fiddle!”

That’s not a letter. Alan saw you not pick up the poop and he was telling you that to your face

“but because of that last sentence you wrote, I now know I was indeed wrong and missing part of the story”

Ohhhhhhhh. Sorry. I’ve argued about this before today with someone who said they’d defend a KKK member’s “freedom of speech”. That combined with other posts lead me to believe a lot people don’t get the full implications of Eich’s “opinion”. To be clear, he donated to support that bill that would repeal California’s legalization of gay marriage.

Apparently you are. Marriage is right heterosexual couples can enjoy and receive legal benefits from. Same sex couples do not get those rights. Therefore, the fact that they lack access to marriage means they have unequal rights. Eich gave money to support a bill that would keep homosexuals in an unequal status

Tell me about it. I’m sick of hearing about his “equal opinion”. Its naive childish logic to think “everyone is right”. His opinion is that sex couples shouldn’t have the same rights as heterosexual couples. That’s not an opinion, that’s discrimination. Maybe he shouldn’t have lost his job for a donation, but his decision infringes upon the rights of others and I don’t think he’s worth defending

Which would be normal because most people’s place on the scale changes over time or even depending on the mood you’re in

It’s ridiculous here. You can’t say anything negative about the Wii U without being bombarded with down votes and attacks from the Nintendo Defense force. It’s why I like talking about video games on the escapist because most people there will shit on Nintendo when Nintendo deserves it but nobody really hates them as a company

You could have said exactly that in a less antagonistic way. “Maybe its not a big deal seeing as Zuckerburg said he only wants to speed up the development of Oculus. The whole point of this investment is because Zuckerburg wants to expand his business ventures, not because he wants Facebook goggles” or something to that affect. Instead you chose to hop in and shit on everyone’s opinion. Its not a one sided argument and as shown by the Carmack vs Iribe statements. You shouldn’t tell people who are emotionally invested in something to stop freaking out over a huge change. And things have changed. This has gone from a community and developer based project to one worth $2 billion

Sorry, but comments where people just say “My opinion is clearly correct because I don’t give a fuck about the thing you care about” bug me

I like the fun of figuring out how to fix bugged quests on the console versions of Bethesda games. Breaking the game to make my character more powerful than god adds to the experience. Using the terminal commands on pc feels too easy

We live in a very corporate society where people can’t own anything. Maybe Oculus wouldn’t have set the world on fire but at least it was owned by a small team of people who cared about it and didn’t owe anything to some group of investors who only care about making a profit and not creating innovation

For the record, I was never invested in the Rift nor am I 100% confident that Zuckerberg will fuck anything up. But I do have the powers of empathy to understand why people are upset and to not antagonize people over something they are invested in

For 99% of people who don’t care, it’s probably because it’s a multi-player only game. The other 1% don’t care because it’s not on ps3, ps4, and Wii U

Maybe it’s because you’re acting like an ass to everyone who replies to you? And you’re throwing out points you don’t care about. You say you get the nudity yet you can’t handle flapping titties? That’s still part of the main point: being comfortable with the human body and all things it does. Titties flap when they move fast and if it wasn’t for censorship I’d bet there would be bouncing ball sacks and floppy dicks everywhere too.

You don’t have to like any of it and you can still enjoy the show in spite of it. But if that stuff wasn’t in the show because it would make some people uncomfortable or make it hard to take seriously, then it would hypocritical of the animators and writers because the whole thing is about how people should be more comfortable with the human form

What’s not to get? It’s a pretty transparent series. One of the main themes is “you are what you wear” which raises the question of “who are you” under the clothes. Hence nudity. And what’s the big deal? Did your puritan upbringing brainwash you into thinking all nudity is filth and fap material? Hell, that’s one of the main points of the show. why is everyone so damn fixated on and afraid of nudity? Nudity and sexuality are natural parts of living and growing up so why do we treat them like huge taboos? The point is that people like you need to get the stick out of your ass and get used to it and learn to be comfortable with your body

/essay over

It’s like when people don’t like Evangelion because it doesn’t have a bunch of unrealistic Mary Sues and protagonist that gets in a bunch of nerd wish fulfillment scenarios. That was the point
