And if you stroke a unicorn’s horn, he’ll give you magical unicorn Mayonnaise.

Cause sometimes I don’t feel like hitting the ’ key or going back to fix it. People know what it means so who cares?

And I admit my opinion is a little biased I don’t trust recovery stuff cause I’ve had it fail on me in the past. I still use it just in case, but I see reinstallation as a reliable solution. And yeah, I recently built a super computer and my win7 setup was fast, but I’ll never multiple computers like that. You don’t need much to have a usable computer these days so I won’t spend a bunch to make the install faster when I can use Linux

I will admit, my first venture into Linux land wasn’t straight forward, but now that I get it, I think its a worthy compromise. Windows fixes may be a double click instead of changing a line code, but your just bloating your system. Case in point, I have an issue with my laptop where I couldn’t use the tilde key in games. The cause? My Microsoft mouse installed a KEYBOARD driver that fucked it up. The ”fix" was to uninstall the driver and break it so it fail when it tries to reinstall every time it boots. Everything you install is chance to get a virus and another program to bloat your system cause it isn’t managed by something like a package manager. And you need lots of third party programs for windows cause it barely does shit from the get go. Dozens of video file types, archives, need new programs

Not what I’m talking about. Imagine if you wanted to browse through OS’s. Wanna try Linux? Just download an ISO and slap it on a live USB. Wanna try Windows? No such thing. You have to install it, you have to buy it and enter 20 character drm keys, and godforbid you already have an OS on your system cause windows will do its darnest to fuck it up. Setting up a system? Linux just works. Windows needs a driver for everything, your monitor, your sound, your ethernet and wifi and bluetooth, your keyboard, your mouse, your flashdrives. Peripherals install themselves these days but everything else needs to be downloaded one at a time from the manufacturer’s website and installed one at a time. Then theres the first batch of updates. Linux is one update and one restart if your using Ubuntu. Arch doesn’t even need to restart. Windows needs multiple restarts and the downloads take forever. And you have to pray your updates dont kill you os and you need to reinstall like I had to do my windows 8 pc’s

If everyone who’s ever owned a computer had to choose and install their own OS, they’d know how much of a pain in the ass Windows can be compared to Linux

Since I started using it a year ago, I haven’t had too much trouble with support. The distro I stuck with was Manjaro and the users on their forums are great to beginners

No viruses/malware and all the compatible software for is free with no strings attached (usually. If there is such a program I’ve never seen it)

For realz. Every Win8 pc I’ve set up has committed sudoku during its first batch of updates. After the THIRD FUCKING TIME my netbook died during updates, I got rid of my windows partition to make more room for Linux.

I managed to convert one of my friends, but ironically my pc mustard race, computer science major friend keeps resisting

Then you agree that this dudes rant is irrelevant? He’s blaming sjws for the lack of women in games saying there’s to much backlash against flawed women characters so that’s why all those characters are men. Except that’s not true cause there’s so many boring male characters. I agree, I think those are the worst types of female characters (even though those are usually the characters people hold up on sticks to show vidja isn’t sexist), it wouldn’t do much so what do people want?

When you put it like that, it slaps this rant in the face. There’s way more Doom Guys in gaming than super flawed characters so making them men hasn’t really changed anything
