This takes me back to my first college level Biology course when I learned this fact. In case anyone was curious, that’s what “fruit” refers to. It’s why tomatoes are a fruit, they’re the part of the tomato plant that contains the plant’s uterus

>snes can’t be properly emulated

Reminds me way back when people were losing their shit over Earthbound getting put on the Virtual console. I was literally playing the game on my smart phone as I read the news about it. It looked great on my HTC Sensation. “Proper emulation” doesn’t mean anything outside of speed runners and people who collect classic games carts.

Personally, I won’t criticize people for buying a platform that has games I want to play. It clearly means they’re doing something right. And thanks to emulation, I’ll be able to play my ps3 blu-ray disks on my future pc emulator while people who bought all their games digital on pc will have to deal with whatever the DRM of the day will be

In what universe would pc elitists put Apple users in a higher category than console users? Honestly the whole argument for pc “freedom” is hypocritical to me. I’m in the camp of less than 10% of pc gamers who’d rather use Linux than pay $120 for Windows exclusive games, yet most criticize consoles for holding exclusive games “hostage”. I’d rather play on whatever platform is convenient, which is sometimes pc and sometimes consoles

I made the terrible mistake of arguing that with an ass hole once. He insisted to me that those people don’t exist because why would people console game if they also own a gaming pc? I guess I imagined myself playing Deadly Premonition on ps3 and Stalker on pc in the same week

I didn’t like the Amazing Spiderman because it’s story made me laugh out loud in the theater, not because it was dark

What gaming communities do you go to where people think their the worst? Most of the time, I see people love Nintendo’s business philosophies even if they don’t play Nintendo’s games

That blurry thing? I have the game on my laptop. Maybe I should post a 1080p screen capture…

Theres probably a firefox extension for everything. The technique is called “reverse image searching” or “search by image”. This feature is actually integrated into Chrome’s desktop and mobile browsers now. If all else fails, you can do it the old fashion way: open google image seadch in a new window and drag and drop images from webpages into the searchbar

Agreed. For all we know, fusion power could be completed in the next decade and we’ll be filling our cars up once a year with a gallon of tap water

3% is just an example how much power can be created from them, not a plan. And yeah, there’s several reasons they might not be good enough first and foremost that completely centering on one power source is bad. But we already do that now in the US. My whole state gets almost all of its power from coal which won’t be around forever and infrastructure around will have to be completely uprooted. And the dump may not be that expensive now, but it sure as hell is a complete drain on resources when we could be recycling more like European countries. Just because it’s cheap and convient doesn’t mean we should just shit all over our environment unless we want to end up a joke like China where people have to walk through cities in masks. And how much expensive is it than fossil fuels? Like I said, solar panels on roofs would cut down on the cost of cooling large buildings in addition to supplying power. It’s not a one size fits all solution but it’s sure as hell a lot more applicable than people realize

Well yeah. But you’d hardly be able to even see it on a map of the whole country. For comparison, the highest point of elevation in my state is the dump. If we can spare so much land for garbage, we can do the same for solar panels

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are times when people can collect more energy than they need to power their house or building. Then can then sell the energy back to power companies which would probably cover the cost of any extra power needed. An infrastructure focused on one form of power isn’t good no matter what it is. Also what gecko said

I did my senior Capstone paper on nuclear power and found out the entire United States could be powered by a single field of solar panels positioned in a sunny state like New Mexico and it would only take up 3% of New Mexico’s land. People are under the misinformed idea that solar isn’t efficient enough to meet our needs and we need fancy projects like solar roads when all we need to do is put them roofs. Most large buildings have huge flat roofs that take in heat during the summer and instead of using solar power to both cool buildings and give it power, we pay to air-condition them. The zoo in my town has special parking areas that are covered by solar panels which keep cars cool and can power the whole zoo on a sunny day

Ha ha! Poor Phil Spencer. I get the impression he likes video games, but is stuck being the face of Xbox which is heavily under fire. I remember last year when he awkwardly stuttered while announcing the Xb1’s price at $500 and had to sit there with a dumb grin on his face while everyone sat there in disappointment
