WHY? Why would anyone in their right mind use a show like this to demonstrate support for Gay Rights? I’m perfectly fine with homosexuality, with clopfics and all the R34 images; hell, I even enjoy some clopfics myself from time to time. But the internet is a relatively closed space, and odds are people who come across clopfics will often be looking for them in the first place.

What are you achieving by showing a placard with Rainbow and Applejack kissing? Nothing beneficial; all you’re doing is casting an impression on those who are uninformed about the show that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a show about homosexual, candy coloured ponies that’s designed to “corrupt” children into believing “morally evil” concepts. Before you go thinking, “Oh, that’s stupid,” odds are a hell of a lot of Conservative fundamentalists could see fandom like this and stop their children from watching it under the pretense that it “corrupts” minors. That only hurts the show’s ratings, the budget the show is given and, by proxy, the community itself.

I’m not going to completely condemn this since I can tell where the guy holding the sign is coming from, but unfortunately one must remember there is a VERY fine line between the internet and crazy fundamentalists IRL who could easily take this the wrong way around.

Although I’d happily see 9gag and it’s annoying watermark vanish of the face of the Earth, reactions like this almost make it worth keeping.

There’s absolutely no point in having a “References to Internet Culture” section on this article, Cataclysm is essentially a references dump; the list is pretty much entirely incomplete and having a full list would take up the entirety of the page.

This article is horrible, if I didn’t know better I’d say it was was written as an advertisement for 9gag.

No. This isn’t a meme. It’s a pretty cool feature that many media outlets use, but it isn’t notable in any other way.

This meme is really starting to annoy me now; I can’t even consider this an advice animal. Most advice animals like Scumbag Steve or Insanity Wolf can have a macro about practically anything.

Friendzone Johnny, on the other hand, seems to entirely be about the picture and the story behind the picture; a poor guy who goes out of his way to impress someone and gets mocked by the internet for it. That’s the only subject I see these macros about, and it annoys me a lot.
