At it’s core, I believe this meme originated from the James Bond film “The man with the golden gun”. Made popular by the successful James Bond spin off game “Goldeneye 007”, the golden gun could kill anyone with a single shot. Due to Goldeneye 007’s popularity within the gaming community, it circulated here as a joke. Don’t quote me on it, but that’s what I understand.
