First off, that is adorable. Second, there’s a noticeable point where her excitement turns to fear.

So, I finally got around to playing White 2, and am now at Verbick City. I went into the gym expecting D-O-G-A-R-S DOGARS but was instead greeted with P-O-K-E-M-O-N POKÉMON. Now I’m curious: where did DOGARS come from, and why is it gone now?

First off, willingness to have sex for different reasons is still rape. Yes, Hanako was willing for the sake of not losing Hisao, but that doesn’t mean she wanted to, and that kind of ambiguity is the cause of most cases of rape. There’s a reason prostitution is illegal: it’s because payment for sex is still coercion, even if it seems not to be. Any instance where sexual intercourse occurs outside of enjoyment of the act itself can be considered rape, because the desire isn’t there. Believe me, I have friends who have been coerced into sex under more ambiguous reasons, and the case could be defined as rape in the legal sense.

Second, I can say that no matter how good of a literary move it seems, it’s not when you consider the fact that a catharsis like that couldn’t happen in real life. If both people in the sexual activity aren’t completely willing, partaking in it will always cause harm to the person psychologically, because it’s just that intimate of a situation. There would be no way to build the relationship that quickly after having sex forced upon you, because someone inserted themselves into your life more intimately than you were comfortable with, and for someone as psychologically damaged as Hanako, coerced sex would have essentially traumatized her. Once again, I’ve had multiple friends who have gone through rape, and it’s not nearly as easy as just forgiving them the next day.

@Pseudogenesis Not in the slightest, actually. If the intent of Hanako’s route was to break down the walls she had built from traumatic experiences, having Hisao essentially rape her is the antithesis of such. I don’t care how heartwarming it may appear, that doesn’t work in real life, and it would probably do far worse damage to her as it is. It’s bad writing, it ruined her route for me, and it’s not immature to think so.

Meh.

I personally find this to be hopelessly optimistic, but whatevs. Y’all bronies can do whatcha want.

The reason I’m not a brony anymore is because I don’t think you have to associate yourself with a fandom to like the content it’s based off of. I like the show, but that’s about it; my reasons for liking anything related are mostly for other reasons beyond it being about ponies.

However, there are other reasons why I don’t associate with the brony fandom. First off, there are far too many people in it who act arrogant and entitled, and throw a fit when they don’t get their way (I realize that this may seem hypocritical in lieu of my recent posts in the Pony General, but it’s less about complaining about Twilicorn and more about explaining my point, which I have a tendency to do to death). I also can’t stand the r34 side of things, not because it exists, but because there’s so many people in the fandom who feel that they can sexualize a children’s television show in any way they want and not get flack for it. It kind of disgusts me that beastiality and child porn equivalents are allowed to exist in what is supposed to be a very family-friendly environment. And finally, I got tired of feeling obligated to like everything that was made by a brony simply because it was made by a brony. A lot of the content out there is atrocious, and I don’t want to be held to a level of loyalty that I’m not in agreement with. Beyond that, though, I can’t stand the fanbase-sanctioned fan voice actors. It’s like the uncanny valley for me: their voices just weird me out.

Well, cool, I hadn’t seen this show before, but now I know to avoid it like I do Big Bang Theory.

I think the real question is, does this actually support the weight of an average human being?

I actually know the guy who’s currently playing Shrek in the Musical company.

Yeah, I have to admit, people are making a bigger deal about this than it deserves. The writing of the episode wasn’t all that great, and while it was cool to see a lost episode, I don’t see why this is getting so much notability.
