My favorite game is mother 2 too (ok that sounded funny).

Mother 2.
I like Mother 1 and 3. But I pratically grew up with Mother 2.
In my opinion Mother 3 seemed like a spin-off than a main game of the series, while Mother 1 has very complicated mechanics like the random encounters.
