it’s real. This was after Brett had retired, I think he was working w/ KC as a batting coach for a while after he retired.

Looks like whatever news organization covering the team wired him for sound for a story, and before they began production, or after an interview, they started getting B-roll; Brett probably started walking around talking to players and coaches forgetting he was mic’d (happens all the time, especially when the talent doesn’t have a real understanding of how video production works).

I have no reason to think this is rehearsed. George Brett’s fairly well known in the KC area for being a little bit eccentric, and saying what’s on his mind (think Gary Busey, but not QUITE as crazy). It all adds up.
