Just let me know you’re adding me (or remind me if I’ve forgotten like I’m apt to do,) and I’ll add you back.
- Pokémon X
- Pokémon Y
- Fire Emblem: Awakening
- Bravely Default
- Super Street Fighter IV
- Mario Kart 7
- Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Possibly other games. I don’t even know anymore.Meaning there’s nothing here right now.
It happens on occasion. I’ve had Dudley from Street Fighter, Roxie from Pokemon, Roxanne from A Goofy Movie, Dorothy from The Big O, and a few others.
I don’t stay that way for long usually. But the Roxanne redesign is really cute in my opinion, so who knows?
That’s what I was hoping for.
…maybe one day…
Oh, you really are new. Then welcome. And thanks for lurking the forums enough to find the New Members thread.
Coffee make my stomach hurt.

Blanka not shocking the shock out of shocks
Classics never die.
I see. I feel like my extended family is a bit like that, but I know my immediate family wouldn’t be as understanding. I know my friends worry about me for some of my interests (but that may be the brony thing more than the black guy thing.)
I may be looking too far into my past or perceiving pressures that were never really there. But I always got upset when people said I listened to “white music” or called me “white boy.” I’m glad the people around you make things a little easier.
Well, I’m normally good about lurking and picking up on that information. Bob told me about that posr you made in the rant thread, and I felt like I should comment.
I made a longer post a long time ago stating my same issues with being black and having to be or act a certain way. I think a lot of our white friends don’t get that we just can’t ignore our black family and friends, because we aren’t stereotypically “black.”
It’s a hard thing to balance even though I’m 26 now. I like anime, cute video games, MLP, chiptunes, and a lot of other geeky things. But it doesn’t mean I’m any less black.
Long story made short, username changes are hard for me to remember.
Hey, I didn’t know you were black. Or did you tell me, and I just ended up forgetting?
Yep. I had the wrong link (fortunately, it wasn’t from my donkey searches from before.) It was just the tl;dr entry.
And I try to keep an eye on my wall and notification emails, so feel free to ask me whatever whenever. I usually pick up on information on users based on their activity, so I’m good for now.
2. The teal deer comes from “tl;dr” (i.e., Too long, didn’t read). “Tl;dr” kinda sounds like “teal deer.”
Usually, when someone posts a teal deer, they mean that someone is typing a little too much and that no one will read it due to the length.
I use it as my common avatar, although I have used various others.
1. Well, not exactly. Perhaps I didn’t explain it well.
I lurked KYM very rarely in college, but I did it more often in grad school, because I didn’t have as much time to hang out with and make friends. One day while I was just looking for funny pictures, I saw that an entry under My Little Pony was trending a lot. So I took a look at the article.
I saw that 4chan liked it from there, but I never frequented 4chan before or even much after. I watched the show, just because I saw it was popular and I thought I could use some bright and colorful friendship between classes and assignments. After a few episodes, I was hooked and have been following the show ever since.
I don’t post much MLP content, just because it can be overwhelming, but if you look at my Derpibooru favorites, you can see that I’ve favorited over 4,700 pony images, which doesn’t include a lot of images I’ve saved from a previous image site that’s now defunct.
I was probably being a butt when you first noticed me.
And before KYM, I was just a college student. As you can tell, my account is very old. A friend in undergrad told me about the site and some memes, and I used KYM for some quick lulz. However, I didn’t really want to get involved with “those weird kids on the Internet,” despite being pretty weird myself.
I ended up here in this context, because of my interest in MLP. I thought it was interesting how sites like 4chan came to like the show so much. I learned about it on KYM, since that was my source for decent articles on memes, and watched a few episodes. After getting into the show, I began posting in the comments section for the main article and I eventually made my way to the forums.
The rest is history, I suppose.
Don’t feel bad. I chose the name “Verbose” for a reason. I don’t really expect people to take time out to give me their life story. I just want enough so I can piece together a picture of the user I’m talking to.
On the whole, you probably won’t notice I’m a Christian. The only time you would is when you pick up on certain “quirks” I have. I’m strongly against abortion, the death penalty, and I lean towards the left politically, because of that.
As for being an authority, being a moderator just means I was active in the forums and I made decent, helpful posts. Being a forum moderator is relatively easy to become. Just mimic the other moderators without mocking them. It’s a lot more difficult for Entry Moderators or Media Moderators.
1) I was once known for my long and drawn out posts in the forum. I’ve also uploaded a few images to a few entries. I also have an apparent tendency to some of the weirdest, most l-lewd entries despite being otherwise bland.
2) I’m a short, black guy from the South who likes sports and his geeky stuff equally in measure. I am probably one of the few people to have been upset that the kickoff of college football season and DragonCon coincided with each other in 2013. I’m also in my mid-twenties, so I’m older than most here.
3) I’m a Christian, so that guides all of my decisions. Otherwise, I just follow my head and heart. That’s really all I’ve done. Either in singing, school, work, sports, friends, or whatever, I just do what I see fit. I can’t condense it into a short answer otherwise, because I’ve done a little of a lot.
4) If a pony can be a waifu, then it’d be Twilight Sparkle.
If not, then it’d be YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE WAIFU NO SECOND CHANCES.
No worries. My email stays busy with work and moderator emails anyway. Seeing emails from a user is a nice change of pace.
I figure it’s only nice of me to answer those questions as well. Part of my intention was to learn about who you are directly, of course. But it was also to see how you respond. “Reading between the lines” can lead to incorrect assumptions, but there’s often some truth to it.
So you have an anxiety disorder? A lot of people on the site have similar disorders, or they have a social condition of some sort. There was once a now very old thread where a lot of users stated that they had Asperger’s or some sort of Autism. Even outside of that, various other users have depressive symptoms of other matters. Since KYM isn’t quite your average part in the Internet Hate Machine, it’s a bit easier to have a support group and to make friends here.
I see. I’m generally pretty straightlaced, although that’s mainly a KYM focused persona. I’m a by-the-book person, but I’m more emotional and goofy than I usually let on. My posting style (and username) comes from how I used to post previously online. KYM is my first and probably only community a part of, so despite my blandness, I do love the site.
Have you been around long enough in “7 months” to feel you have a claim to fame? Who are you? What is your motivation? Who is your waifu?
Nah. There’s not real bother. If I was bothered, I’d just stop responding (but then again, that’d be rude.) The main thing is that it should be my “responsibility” to say when I’m annoyed or something. Don’t worry about that.
But I will ask this: What makes you interested in talking to me? I don’t post all that much in the forums anymore, and I’m not very active anywhere else.
I mostly watch sports and My Little Pony now. I play Pokemon and other stray video games outside of that and hang out with some old friends from college when I have time to go out.
I do like anime, but I haven’t gotten into a series like I had when I was a (loose) member of an anime club back in college. I have seen the first couple of episodes of WataMote, so I’ll probably start watching that again soon.
I don’t have as much time for anime and games it all as I did in college and grad school, but it’s still where a lot of my free time goes.
Otherwise, I’m very big on sports in general.
Yeah, I don’t spend much time on KYM, so I don’t usually take time to change my profile often, even for Spirit Week. But I am on often to check PM’s, the forums, and my wall.
The thing is that I don’t really like platformers or fighting games. I got Street Fighter mostly on a whim (yay, expendable income) and a wave of nostalgia (from playing Street Fighter with my cousins back when I was younger.)
And Kirby is usually the only platforming series I like. I do have Super Mario Galaxy, and that’s a really good game, but I don’t like most other Mario games, Donkey Kong Country, or most Sonic games (I have a compilation of older Mega Man and Sonic games, but again, that’s based more on nostalgia.)
Conquest is OK, I haven’t finished yet, but it’s good for what it is. It’s not as good as being a tile tactics RPG as Advance Wars or Fire Emblem, and it’s not as good as being a monster catching RPG like Pokemon, but it’s a neat combination.
