Rat Movie: Mystery of the Mayan Treasure, the timeless classic.While Rat Movie 2: The Movie develops the characters we all came to know and love in the original the pacing of key plot points and sporadic introductions of new characters made the movie hard to keep up with and confusing. That being said the focal piece of the storyline is given more attention, but not substantial as in the original it's basically mentioned from the get-go and scores points there. There was also a noticeable increase in VFX fidelity as noted by seeing the earth from the inside of a plane, but practical effects are always more impressive. As evidenced by The Thing (1982) practical has so much more of an impact in conveying emotions with the audience, and in Rat Movie: Mystery of the Mayan Treasure when the first Big Rat (who makes all the rules) dies and the minion expands tenfold to take charge we were on the edge our seats thinking "How the fuck did they do that!?" All in all Rat Movie: Mystery of the Mayan Treasure is the pinnacle of moviemaking from this generation and some big boots to feel but sadly director Jerma985 fails to tie the laces with his well anticipated sequel.
