The Astronomer CEO's affair at a Coldplay concert! If you've been online at all in the past month, this win shouldn't come as a big surprise. In what's easily become one of the biggest stories of the year, now-ex-CEO Andy Byron was called out by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for having an affair after ducking from the Jumbotron camera. Martin was only joking, but as it turns out, Byron actually was having an affair! The whole thing resulted in a lot of memes, Byron losing his job and, now, a Meme of the Month award, with 22% of the total votes. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday

Coming in at second with 12.5% of the total votes is Nothing Beats a Jet2 Holiday. This meme is based on a YouTube ad for the leisure travel group Jet2. The ad features some pretty uninteresting narration over "Hold My Hand" by Jess Glynne. At the end of 2024, the ad's audio was uploaded to TikTok and, for some reason, started going viral as an ironic meme. Mostly, people started uploading footage of accidents, fails and other intense situations over the sound, making for an interesting contrast in tones. With a second-place win in the bag, maybe it's true what they say: nothing beats a Jet2 holiday.

Coming in a close third with 11% of the total votes is SDIYBT, an acronym that blew up on social media this month. The acronym was inspired by another closely related meme about the temptation to dig where you shouldn't. This one far surpassed the original in popularity thanks to a viral SpongeBob SquarePants meme and the absurdity of the acronym itself. If there's one thing those Gen Alphas love, it's a convoluted acronym, and it doesn't get much more convoluted than SDIYBT.

Indonesian Boat Racing Kid

Aura farming their way into fourth place with 8% of the total votes is the Indonesian Boat Racing Kid! Videos of this kid and several others dancing on the front of Indonesian Pacu Jalur racing boats went viral throughout July. The videos are so cool, they inspired TikTokers and Reels users to start doing the dances for themselves, recreating the videos and posting memes about the undeniable aura coming off the kids.

Finally, with 6% of the total votes, James Doakes' big comeback meme But You Can't Prove It sneaks its way into fifth, and you've got this sentence to prove it. The meme has been building up since the end of 2024, but this month it really hit the mainstream. The meme uses a collection of reaction images of James Doakes from Dexter alongside captions joking about knowing that something is happening, but being unable to prove it. This references the character of James Doakes, who knows that Dexter is a murderer but can't prove it.

Now for the honorable memes that didn't quite crack the top five: With 5.6% of the votes, we had Labubu Matcha Dubai Chocolate. With 5.2% was Smart Guy With Glasses, followed by Subway Slammer at 4%, Orc City at 3.2%, Togore Dreemurr at 3.2% and Papa Squid Game at 2.8%.
