Here are five of the biggest memes of the past week that you need to catch up on.

Asgore Running Over Dess

The latest chapters of Deltarune only came out earlier this month, and already they've inspired what seems like years' worth of memes, with the latest viral sensation being memes about Asgore running over Dess.

The memes are based on a fan theory dating back to 2021. In the theory, Deltarune fans believe that the character Asgore, the father of protagonist Kris, killed Dess Holiday in a car accident.

Over the past few years, some Deltarune fans have posted memes and pieces of fan art about the hypothesized accident, mostly suggesting that Asgore ran Dess over with his car. The jokes work especially well because of Dess' resemblance to deer, which, as you might know, tend to get hit by cars very often.

These memes took off in June as artists flexed their creative muscles to draw, animate and otherwise depict Asgore absolutely obliterating Dess with his car. A lot of the memes are particularly high effort, showing just how creative the Deltarune community tends to be.

WW3 Draft Memes

Another week has passed, and World War III still hasn't been declared, but people are still preparing with memes about the potential WW3 draft.

The mounting tensions overseas are really getting to social media users, and it's showing. Just last week, we had memes about "Monitoring the Situation" featured in our Weekly Meme Roundup, which were directly inspired by fears of World War III.

Now, we're seeing the rise of more and more general World War III memes focused on the potential draft and the great lengths some U.S. citizens might go to dodge it.

Some viral examples include memes about dudes transitioning or disguising themselves as women to dodge the draft, a meme suggesting that all supporters of the current U.S. president should be automatically drafted and memes claiming that people who probably shouldn't be drafted have been drafted, such as rapper Dave Blunts.

While the adults of the internet worry about getting drafted into World War III, the children of the internet are more concerned with "retroslop," an absolute assault on the world of Roblox fashion.

Retroslop is a very niche Roblox term that's recently become not-so-niche thanks to the power of the TikTok algorithm. Essentially, it's used to describe posers on Roblox who mix retro character aesthetics with modern aesthetics, resulting in a perceivably hideous character.

The most egregious offenders of retroslop are those who not only dress retroslop, but also act as though they've been on Roblox since the so-called "retro" era, which purportedly happened between 2006 and 2013.

If you're in the Roblox community, you've probably seen posts calling out retroslop everywhere you go, especially on TikTok and Reddit.

Some viral examples include videos of people sharing their avatars and asking if they are retroslop and people trolling retroslop players or trolling others by dressing in retroslop, looking for reactions.

Bald J.D. Vance

J.D. Vance photoshops are taking over the timeline once again, but this time, everyone is focused on a specific bald J.D. Vance edit that went viral this week after a Norwegian tourist claimed it caused him to be denied entry to the U.S.

That's right: a Norwegian tourist is going viral after claiming that he was denied entry into the United States because he had a bald J.D. Vance meme on his phone. Apparently, he was pulled aside at the airport and asked about "drug trafficking, terrorist plots and right-wing extremism."

His phone was then searched through and, according to him, the bald J.D. Vance photoshop and a photo of a homemade pipe were found among his photos.

Now, the internet is running with the idea that the man was banned from entering the U.S. because of the photoshop meme.

Despite the massive spread of the story, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it was false and that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) denied him for "his admitted drug use," not political reasons.

Gordon Ramsay Slang

Everybody loves celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay, and now, TikTokers are taking out-of-context moments from his Ramsay Reacts series and turning his double entendres into slang terms.

The trend started earlier this month with the slang term "SMYW," meaning "Show me your w-lly," a phrase yelled by Ramsay during a video of him reacting to someone's beef wellington. The audio of Ramsay yelling the phrase recently became a big audio on TikTok and soon started to spread across the app as a slang term, abbreviated to "SMYW."

This week, TikTokers decided to take the trend a step further by taking other Ramsay clips and slangifying them.

This has resulted in piles of videos with hundreds of thousands to millions of views, taking Ramsay's most bizarre double entendres and abbreviating them for the masses. As evidence of just how many videos this trend has inspired, some TikTokers are leaving comments sharing all the Ramsay slang terms, and it's an understatement to say they drag on forever.
