jokes aside, I’d love to see indie developers try and make Mario & Luigi style rpgs. The battle gameplay is amazing, especially Bowser’s Inside Story’s. Paper Mario’s partner system is fine, but TTYD was lacking in character development for Mario’s partners, and the pixls that aren’t Tippi have next to no dialogue whatsoever. Mario & Luigi doesn’t have this problem, since you just have Mario & Luigi, and maybe one or two other playable characters in the sequels. Additionally, I love its cartoony aesthetic, especially Superstar Saga’s.
Bowser’s Inside Story I have a soft spot for, since I played it several times as a kid. That game is PACKED with minigames sprinkled throughout the story. Even in the final area of the game, they’re STILL introducing new game mechanics!

Speaking of RPGs, that Xenoblade 3 expansion was phenomenal.
